IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE MY REVIEW For Canon R series camera users: It is important that you go to your camera settings (page 7 on my R5), and change the "Expo. Simulation" setting to "disable". This will allow your camera to properly focus while using this flash. This may be common knowledge, but I have always used Canon Flash products, which would automatically brighten the screen in order to focus on the subject, so I never had to do so. Seeing as this product is not "recognized" by Canon (as of this writing and on my R5 at least), the camera will (most likely be) well underexposed, making it almost impossible to properly focus (ie shooting at f/11 @ 1/200s). It took me a good 20 mins to find a solution for this issue online, and now it works as it should. REVIEW: Other than the aforementioned critical step in order to ensure proper use, this flash works exactly as intended. I primarily purchased it for all of my macro shots, seeing as using a normal flash set up mounted to the hotshoe of the camera would sometime result in lack of proper illumination (if the lens was too close to he subject) or really harsh shadows due to the flash being mounted away from the lens. This flash eliminates both of those issues, resulting in a properly exposed image with even lighting. It is ideal for macro shots, but I'm sure it would work wonders with product photography as well as portrait/headshot photography as well. I also find it very neat that you can adjust the two sections of the flash separately, which I'm sure will lead to some very interesting shots once I play around with it a bit more. The construction of the product itself seems relatively solid, and I'm glad that the adapters are some form of metal instead of plastic. I had no issue mounting the 67mm adapter to my RF100mm 2.8 lens, although you will have to remove the lens hood entirely (I usually have it in the "resting" position along the lens). Although the flash works as intended, it's not perfect for a few reasons: 1) You aren't able to put a lens cover back on while this flash is mounted to your lens. This may be a non-issue for some, but I ALWAYS put the lens cover back on when I'm done shooting any subject. This means that I also have to remove the flash from my camera when I'm done shooting, otherwise I would probably leave it mounted knowing that I will most likely use it for my next shoot. 2)The flash isn't recognized by my camera (R5, and at least as of this writing), meaning that I'm unable to select the flash settings via my camera (which is what I usually do with my other Canon flashes). 3)Very minor gripe, but like most Chinese products, the instructions were most likely written by a non-native English speaker. leading to a few confusing (yet decipherable) instructions. That said, this is a relatively cheap ring flash (especially compared to the one offered by Canon) that does its job well. I've only used it for the last couple of days, so as long as it keeps working, I really have no complaints.

Works great. On my wide angle you can slightly see the edge of the adapter ring.
