I purchased it as I was going out of town and wanted more powerful speed light to use as a fill or 2nd light in a portrait and big group shot set up. As the zoom range is only from 28 mm to 105, and I knew I wanted to put it into an umbrella, I intended to put the dome diffuser on it to Sylvia umbrella better. And it worked great both as it still light and a portrait set up And my second light for a large group. It seems quite a bit more powerful than the original. Does feel slightly heavier when it's on the camera, but it's pretty good. Just got back from a four day annual meeting/conference and I was very happy with how it works.

I purchased a Nikon Z7II to go with my Z7 and Z5. The older ZOOM LI-ON Flash worked well with my Z7 and my Z5 after I reloaded the firmware. However they did not work in TTL mode with the Z7II. After researching the issue, it seems Nikon changed some timings on the Z7II and Z9 and maybe others. The new ZOOM LI-ON III works great on my Z7II. Always have loved the battery life and the recycle times and the III maybe even a little better.

Great speed light! On camera TTL or off camera with the flashpoint remote trigger. The Battery seems to last for ever. The TTL is right on every time. It does everything it one would expect from a professional quality equipment at a very reasonable price. A great unit at any price.

Solid build quality and a wide range of features. More than I will use. One challenge I had was figuring out how to engage the optical slave modes. The manual does not say. Fortunately, Shua K in customer support got on the phone with me. He was awesome: very knowledgeable, articulate, and helpful. (A: use the right-most lightning button to put ensure the radio icon is absent; then use the Mode button to put it in "M" mode; then use the soft keys to select S1 (regular) or S2 (smart) optical slave mode.)

Fairly easy to use but the instruction book could have been better written. I love the rechargeable lithium battery, last for over 400 shots easily and saves on the cost of AA batteries. Good coverage at longer distances (100-175ft). I didn't like the fact that it kept hibernating on me causing me to miss some shots. Perhaps there is an adjustment for that I am unaware of right now. All in all, I actually like it better than my Canon flash. I still need to use it more for additional testing but I have no regrets buying this flash.

The flash worked well for me with Sony A7III and then it stopped working mid-day and wasn't available during my afternoon shoot when I needed it. Battery was fine and camera settings hadn't changed.

Great flash unit. The modeling light is especially handy for me in low light situations especially to pull focus on very dimly lit subjects. This flash also has a very good zoom range (14mm -200mm) and a great iTTL system that helps for on the go flash performance. Fast recycle time.

The Li-Ion battery is a beast. I have never even come close to 458+ full pops from the flash, and likely will not. I try to setup my lighting for not more than 3/4 power, and even in a session with 400 images I was only at 50% battery. The flash recycles quickly, and if you buy the round head accessory you get all of the benefits of the V1, but in a smaller footprint.

Love this flash. It?s the first flash I?ve ever owned ( I?ve had Nikon and Canon high flashes) that nails the exposure when I?m bouncing. Very reasonably priced.

Awesome flash. I?m an amateur wannabe. I use a canon rp. I use it as bounce flash on ttl and even use my old yn622c ii triggers to radio trigger to the flash off camera. I can even change flash settings and compensation from my camera menu with this flash. I want to buy the flashpoint trigger soon. I REALLY like the rechargeable battery, way more convenient. Spend the extra on this one vs AA battery one, this one is worth it. I definitely recommend it.

I got this during one of Adorama's sales and it was such a good deal! I believe it was around $100 off. This was my first time using flash and I was able to get the hang of it quickly. It works well and the battery lasts long (I'm able to go the whole wedding day on one battery and still have 2/3 bars). I've since added the MagMod accessories too and am excited to keep using it!

For the price these are great units and for the price I had to give them a try. With consistent use they're not holding up (Up to 45 shoots a month in high heat and humidity). My first two units lasted between 4 and 5 months. Quality issues are varying from failures in hotshoe, control panel buttons and inconsistent performance. Once again for the price it is a good unit for a Hobbyist/Amateur, but just not a workhorse.
