The Flashpoint Zoom R2 Manual Flash is very solid. I appreciate the fact that it works so well with the Flashpoint R2 Nano Remote. Being a manual flash, it means I am in complete control of flash output levels. So far it has been consistent and works very simply.

Reasonably priced, powerful, relatively simple(compared to the Li-ion version-I bought both). I use them with an R2 Pro MII flash trigger and this one was waaay easier to set up compared to the Li-ion version.

Very good unit. I would have preferred that I could change the zoom as well as power but I guess it's pretty rare that I change the zoom once I set it. Good manual only flash.

Works great for taking pictures to put on market place and eBay. The manual is a little difficult to understand, especially when trying to use the slave portion of the flash unit. Great Black Friday price!

Nice flash, but it eats AAA batteries almost as fast as you can eat your lunch! Get the Li-on rechargable version of this flash and your life will change!

I?ve been doing photography since 2014. Decided it was time to expand my skills and teach myself flash. Bought this and a wireless trigger. Giving 5 stars for value.

I use this with a white umbrella to provide fill in conjunction with a R2 Monolight with Softbox for portraiture. An since it is TTL I can use it directly on my camera

The Flashpoint zoom is a mostly plastic, but durable flash. I am pleased with the up and down and 360 degree rotation of the head. There is a bit of a learning curve for the use of the flash, but it can be used effectively in a short time. I haven't had enough time to try all of the features, and there are plenty of those features.

It is about 20% larger than the Nikon SB600 that it is replacing. So far I have not been able to make it work off camera.

Definitely a lifesaver. Had to shoot that was supposed to be for golden hour, and the client showed up late. Thankfully I had just bought this product, and was able to finish the shoot and get paid.

I bought this flash as part of a kit with the Sony A7R II. The flash adapter is HUGE. Even my friend commented saying that the flash itself looks bigger than the camera body. Apart from the size, it works great!

Price of flash was great. That's why I bought it. Unfortunately, I loaded it with D***cell batteries, which leaked, and destroyed the flash. D***cell would not compensate me fair market value for the flash, so I never replaced it. I am still waiting for Adorama to put the flash on sale again. As for D***cell batteries, they destroyed about a half-dozen devices of mine, and only compensated me partial value. They even made me pay for the batteries which leaked and destroyed my devices! I swore right then and there that I would NEVER buy D***cell batteries again in my lifetime. Caveat Emptor!

This works surprisingly well and from what I have seen in using it and what I have been reading about the Sony genuine counterpart, they are nearly identical in exposure accuracy. More testing on a real-world job will be needed to be sure. The only nagging problem with some Sony bodies (I tried it on the a7C) is in TTL, the camera recognizes the flash as a daylight balanced light source and thus defaults to a daylight white balance when you set the camera to AWB. Ridiculous since most flash photos actually result in a mixed Kelvin temperature and unless you're in a totally light controlled studio you never get an exact 5600K color temp! But it seems to be a Sony Issue rather than a Flashpoint issue. Otherwise I like the unit and so far it was well worth the modest price!

Great speedlight to use in tandem with my Flashpoint Evolv 200 during wedding receptions. Rooms are so dark and the more light I can get, the better. Well made, perhaps just slightly less build quality as my EX600?s but this flash is also 1/4 the price of the Canons. I used to use the R2 transmitter and mount a EX600 on that but it was too top heavy. After spending 10-15 minutes setting up the R2 flash and ratios with my Evolv, I was good to go. Will probably buy another one soon.

Great product! Have used for both on camera for even photography and with a trigger for real estate photos. Amazing in any situation.

like this flash a lot. It has easy to read menus and is quite powerful just how much? its not on the spec page in the manual. Using with multiple brands of cameras by using the R2 Pro transmitter. Well this stuff is complicated but after a bit I am becoming more familiar with the menus. I also have the TT350 or Flashpoint Mini, Sp R2 tranceivers and the R2pro TTl transmitter and then i got the Zoom lion XR2 TTL speedlight. So it seems to me the Zoom TTl R2 is a sweetspot in value and power. That being said my Zoom lion gets 2 times the flashes with its proprietary Lion battery so if you are a power user a lion flash might be better it seems all the flashes are being updated to use proprietary batteries. For an occasional flash user that does not want to be involved in constant batter maintenance the double AAs might serve you best. All my Flashpoint/Godox flash work as they should and are bargain priced for the moment.

GREAT Flash! Don't Ship in a Padded Enevelope!
By Paul M.
I love my Flashpoint TTL R2 flashes--I have 3! They work great with no added triggers or cables. Seriously, these are everything I want in a flash at a great prices! I had one issue with my last one though, it was sent to me in a padded envelop. The problem was that it got squished enough that the ministand rubbed the paint off the top of my new flash! It wasn't a big enough deal that I was going to ship it back, but I take pride in my gear and it all looks like new, except for my newest piec...

By Spencer M.
I already had 4 speedlights but bought this to go with my Flashpoint Xplor and R2 transmitter which i recently purchased. I already sold my other speedlights and my yongnuo 622 trigger system since i have this Flashpoint Zoom TTL with the integrated R2 receiver. What i never realized is if i put this speedlight on camera i can control other R2 speedlights directly and even my Xplor! i also purchased the $179 lithium ion R2 speedlight but havent received it yet (back order).
