Shopper : Does this flash work with the Panasonic Lumix DC-G9?HUGO S : Yes it does.HENRY P : No, its not compatible; Im returning mine.Brent L : It works fine with my Lumix GH5 so I think it’s a safe bet that it will work on the G9.Charles B : I've not tried it on a G9, but I can tell you that it works fine on a GX85 and on Olympus OMD EM! MkI and MkII cameras. On all of those bodies, TTL mode gives proper exposure at several apertures. However, on all bodies the auto zoom function always reads (and apparently sets the zoom lenses in the flash head) a few millimeters longer than the lens on the camera. A 12mm lens shows as 14mm on the zoom, a 17mm as 25mm, and 60mm as 67mm. At least on the wider angle lenses, this leads to a slight but visible amount of underexposure at the bottom of the frame. Manually setting the flash zoom to match the lens focal length gives more uniform exposure at the bottom of the frame. I don't depend on that function of the flash so don't care, but others might.LESLIE J : Suggest you call Adorama - I have the Lumix FZ300 and it works with that model. You can use the X1T-O Flash Trigger however, on camera or manually off camera to emit the proper R2 signal to control the Flashpoint flash units. Note there is a newer version of this unit, the Xpro-(insert the letter for your camera) that has improved the ergonomics of the trigger. The Flashpoint flash can also be operated in optical slave mode and triggered as a simple flash by any other flash set off in it's view. Either of the Flash Triggers mentioned above could manually set the power of the flash unit remotely. TTL and HSS would not be available as there is no feedback loop to the camera from the flash.Richard S : The flash is a device with a Tranceiver comprising both a transmitter and a receiver that are combined and share common circuitry or a single housing. This flash is made for a variety of different camera brands and yes, they make one for the Panasonic/Olympus Micro 4/3 line of cameras. In addition, it also functions perfectly on older regular Four Thirds cameras. I've become very smitten with this particular flash - along with their more powerful versions that use Li-ion batteries. This flash offers features and power levels that would cost you triple (if not more) than anything even comparable from Olympus and Panasonic. Comes highly recommended and I've purchased several of them now - to function with my Fuji X, Micro 4/3, and Canon cameras.

Just What I Was Looking For

The TT600 is just what I was looking for. It performs as described and meets my needs. I wanted a manual flash so I can control what I'm getting. I may need to pick up a new remote trigger to take advantage of the HSS. Was also surprised by the ability to get multiple flashes per exposure for some creative shots. The low price is also a big plus.

A Solid Manual Flash

The Flashpoint Zoom R2 Manual Flash is very solid. I appreciate the fact that it works so well with the Flashpoint R2 Nano Remote. Being a manual flash, it means I am in complete control of flash output levels. So far it has been consistent and works very simply.

Flashpoint Zoom TTL R2 Flash

The Flashpoint zoom is a mostly plastic, but durable flash. I am pleased with the up and down and 360 degree rotation of the head. There is a bit of a learning curve for the use of the flash, but it can be used effectively in a short time. I haven't had enough time to try all of the features, and there are plenty of those features.

Great flash (although a bit big)

I bought this flash as part of a kit with the Sony A7R II. The flash adapter is HUGE. Even my friend commented saying that the flash itself looks bigger than the camera body. Apart from the size, it works great!

I paid a great price for this flash.

Price of flash was great. That's why I bought it. Unfortunately, I loaded it with D***cell batteries, which leaked, and destroyed the flash. D***cell would not compensate me fair market value for the flash, so I never replaced it. I am still waiting for Adorama to put the flash on sale again. As for D***cell batteries, they destroyed about a half-dozen devices of mine, and only compensated me partial value. They even made me pay for the batteries which leaked and destroyed my devices! I swore right then and there that I would NEVER buy D***cell batteries again in my lifetime. Caveat Emptor!

Great So Far But Don't Use AWB!

This works surprisingly well and from what I have seen in using it and what I have been reading about the Sony genuine counterpart, they are nearly identical in exposure accuracy. More testing on a real-world job will be needed to be sure. The only nagging problem with some Sony bodies (I tried it on the a7C) is in TTL, the camera recognizes the flash as a daylight balanced light source and thus defaults to a daylight white balance when you set the camera to AWB. Ridiculous since most flash photos actually result in a mixed Kelvin temperature and unless you're in a totally light controlled studio you never get an exact 5600K color temp! But it seems to be a Sony Issue rather than a Flashpoint issue. Otherwise I like the unit and so far it was well worth the modest price!

Handy piece of gear!

Great speedlight to use in tandem with my Flashpoint Evolv 200 during wedding receptions. Rooms are so dark and the more light I can get, the better. Well made, perhaps just slightly less build quality as my EX600?s but this flash is also 1/4 the price of the Canons. I used to use the R2 transmitter and mount a EX600 on that but it was too top heavy. After spending 10-15 minutes setting up the R2 flash and ratios with my Evolv, I was good to go. Will probably buy another one soon.

works great with my R2 and Xplor strobe

I already had 4 speedlights but bought this to go with my Flashpoint Xplor and R2 transmitter which i recently purchased. The Flashpoint Zoom R2 TTL Flash for Olympus and Panasonic represents a significant breakthrough in speedlight technology with the introduction of full R2 Remote TTL and manual power connectivity and interaction with all Olympus and Panasonic strobe functions. From standard TTL, to Exposure Compensation (FEC), FV Lock, High Speed Sync, and an automatically zooming flashhead, all the way to complete connectivity with other Flashpoint R2 flashes, group control, Slave and Master options, and advanced flash functions, the Zoom flash takes you as far as you want to go.

The R2 TTL Wireless Flash System is the advanced 2.4GHz radio that adds camera TTL dedicated functions to your multi flash experience. Easy to use buttons command a full range of options like reliable channel triggering, group mode selectivity, and HSS, as well as powerful signal strength and exceptional stability in your selected camera flash language. The LCD panel clearly displays the status of all remote R2 compliant strobes so you always have precise control of grouped lighting setups. R2 wireless communication gives speed of light response to on or off camera R2 family devices for a spectacular advantage on any shoot in any environment.

All the R2 enabled units communicate seamlessly: the lithium powered Zoom Li-on and AA powered Zoom speedlights, the Streaklight 360 barebulb strobes (each available in Nikon, Canon, Olympus/Panasonic. Fujifilm and Sony TTL as well as manu al), and the portable 600ws XPLOR600 monolights (available in TTL and manual). Other strobes can be fired simultaneously by being attached to the R2 Radio Remote Receiver FPRRR2R*, and older R1 Streaklight and Zoom Li-on units can be controlled and triggered using the bridge Receiver for Non-R2 Streaklights/Zoom Li-ons.

The R2 system provides a full proprietary Group style interface allowing up to 5 Groups to be individually set to either TTL, Manual, or Off and most importantly, TTL and Manual Groups can be conveniently mixed together as needed. The battery powered units provide TTL, HSS (High Speed Sync) and even a HSS pre-sync timing adjustment for precision synchronization. PC cord sync input ports are provided for external device remote sync without control.

Besides Olympus and Panasonic TTL and manual control, there are 2 optical slave modes, and a stroboscopic mode as well. The metal shoe features a locking pin, so even if the foot is not tightened properly it will not accidentally fall off of the camera or mount. Remote power control using a Flashpoint R2 System Transmitter or R2 Family flash allows you to view and change your flash output as you shoot as well as trigger the flash and adjust other functions from more than 150 feet away, for extreme off camera work.

The simple layout and familiar controls make using this flash intuitive. The flashhead rotates 180 degrees in any direction and tilts over 90 degrees for any type of bounce or modifier use. The head zooms automatically or manually from 24-200mm for use with full frame cameras or from 14-133mm for the APS format, to ensure the necessary coverage without wasted spill. The built-in pull out wide angle diffuser spreads light evenly to 14/10mm for use with lenses wider than 24mm.
