So after three years, I'm finally making a review and I'm showcasing some of the photos I have used with my flashpoint AD1200 pro. This is such a well-made professional strobe, you cannot beat the price per performance. I know you don't always need 1200 W, but when you do, it's time to pull out this strobe light. I do a lot of action shots for senior portraits because a lot of them are athletes, and they want to do some of those fun photos they see online. And I also work with a lot of ATV and dirtbike racers and this strobe paired up with my AD600. Makes the perfect combo for freezing motion and getting those sharp action shots. I was super impressed with the well-made travel case that has an extendable handle and wheels just like luggage. Then it has its own carrying case with a clear lid for the top of it to keep it out of the elements. It has a built-in cooling fan for the power station and a built-in fan on the element that connects to your soft box. This thing puts out a ton of light and it will heat up. But it's so simple to use and it's so well-made you can't go wrong. I have yet to use a whole battery during a photo shoot. The one day I did 10 riders and I was using full power on all the action shots and I don't even think I got it down to halfway. I am heavily invested into flashpoint/godox with owning multiple strobes from two AD200's, a ad300 pro, 2 ad600's, 2 v1's, and just about every trigger they came out with. I've been using them for over seven years and I am still using the same original batteries that came with each one of them. They have served me well and I don't feel the need to buy any other brands that cost double or three times the amount when flashpoint/godox continues to come out with state-of-the-art strobe lights that will meet the demands for any professional photographer. If you're thinking about getting one I highly recommend it. I also recommend waiting for black Friday or when Adorama has special sales and get it for a great price.

Well built, works amazingly well!! The modeling lamp is powerful on it's own too. I want two more!! It's so fast you can freeze fast cars, bikes, people, nothing can stop you with this light. I got it on sale, I'm super impressed! I think Flashpoint really out did themselves with this package. The battery life is incredible, I have yet to recharge the battery and I've done three full shoots with it. It fires and recycles really fast, almost as quick as a blink! The flash head is really light weight so you don't have to worry about putting it up real high if you want to. I've been wanting this for a year, finally got one. I was looking at profotos and nothing they have competes with this at this price, speed and accurate color too! I haven't found anything that can compete with this light.

Hey, I needed power, and power in a portable pack is what I got! What can I say?! 1200w/s in a small, portable pack with a battery that delivers and lasts long is pretty amazing, especially for the price --even better when purchased on sale and Black Friday sales! That's what I did! Do you need a higher power ceiling so that you can use lower power settings for better action-stopping potential?! Then you need this! Like all the other strobes in Flashpoint's portable Pro line, the 1200 Pro works great, the battery has a reset button, and its designated, portable case is great for transportation! The specific pack case with shoulder strap is a wonderful touch for this pack and head unit, making location shoots a breeze for your assistant or when you work alone and move around. The luggage and case could be of higher quality, but overall what you're getting is far above its price point, even at full retail! Not to mention, I much prefer this unit since the head is much lighter than using a 600 Pro at the top of a light stand -- less worry about tipping outdoors. It's pretty magnificent to have this much light output at your disposal!

XPLOR Power 1200 Pro R2 TTL It has been a few weeks since I got this. I am about to go to my first shoot with it after some test I am happy with it. The high capacity battery didnt come in for 2 weeks and it was a difficult process. I would have given it 5 stars but the service was with this order was just painful to deal with. I ordered a bunch of accessories and one never came. I just ordered from somewhere else and canceled after 2 weeks. One item was damaged and they just refunded when I was expecting them to just ship another item. All and all this is the single worst order with Adorama that I have made. The light maybe great who knows I just now got it. Make sure they ship you everything so that you can use actually use it. Best of luck with customer service.

This light is excellent, if you need speed / recycle time, this is it.. even at 1200w/s... but at lower power levels, you can get a few flashes per second... and a stop more than the 600, it'll light what. you need. it is large and fairly heave to carry around, but the rolling suitcase it comes in is very good and protects the unit. High speed sync allows you to not use 3 stop ND anymore in the sun. Highly recommended

AD1200 PRO has lived up to all of my expectations. I'm extremely happy with it. The learning curve is practically flat is you currently use the current line of Godox/Flashpoint wireless battery powered strobes. Very easy to use and get great results especially outside in midday sun!

A high powered flash that is well built. The pack, head, and even rolling case are very good quality. The R2 trigger also seems to produce a very reliable signal. The head secures tightly to the light stand. The modifiers snap in place like they're supposed to on the Bowens mount. A couple of annoyances with the unit. The cable is hard-wired into the head which makes storing it in the case a little challenging. Second, the pack accepts only 1 head. You'll have to buy a second pack if you want a 2nd head and a new case since the case only fits 1 pack and head. Can't wait to try it out for more types of photography.

How does this not have any reviews? If you want the short version, I love it. If you need a 1200w/s strobe and have the budget, you should buy it too. I have a Rovelight RL600, a couple of AD200's, and a lot of YongNuo YN600EX-RT's. That's what I was using for lighting in shoots. I actually bought the AD200's late last year and only used them once before the pandemic hit. At the time, I was daisy-chaining triggers to get Godox/YN to work together, and that worked out fine. But if I wanted one single light with a lot of power and HSS. Point is, I have a mish-mash of lighting gear and it all works but there's a lot of pieces and a lot of setup for on-location shoots. The answer for me was to get one piece that I can build on and that is the XPLOR 1200. Of course, it already works with the AD200's and I have the eVolv twin head so I can use that as another lights with the same trigger. First impressions. I thought this was going to be smaller and heavier. I think it's because I remember the days of lugging a Vagabond II, and that thing was really heavy. Eventually I got the Vagabond mini so I had that in mind as a frame of reference. I'm not disappointed about the size or weight. I used to lug around a Flashpoint 2420a and the vagabond two and this is lighter plus it’s less clunky to put together. I can also use the battery pack as a weight and the balancing is so much easier with the lighter moonlight. As far as the carry case and the build, everything is very solid. The stitching all looks good on the case. There's lots of pockets and several more dividers that I will never use, except for one to make a little pocket for my R2 trigger. Did I mention that there’s a lot of pocket? There’s also a rain cover, which was a good bonus. I'll also put some flash modifiers in the pockets eventually. The pockets themselves aren’t roomy so I don’t know what else I can put in there yet. The wheels won’t quite work for a rough trail or sand, but I have a wagon for that, if needed. Nothing feels cheap. The monolight cable is thick and very sturdy. Operating the pack with its screen or a R2 trigger is a breeze. The pack itself and the battery do not feel cheap. Everything works great and at least during testing, there has been no misfires. I love the short recycle time and I am looking forward to testing this in a live shoot. The only nitpick that I have is that I don’t like the way the connector plugs into the battery. I had a laptop that had a similar connector. It never broke but it always felt flimsy. Not that it feels like it’s going to break, just a personal preference to have a different type of connector. The only other thing is that the latch to release the light from the battery pack is a bit small. Then again, if it was bigger I think people would complain about that. Can’t make everyone happy. Some people will say that 1200w/s is not necessary and that you can do with 600w/s because the power is not that much less. To that, I’ll say that you can play that game and then say you might as well get 300w/s because the power is not that much less compared to 600w/s. And you can keep going that way until you end up with nothing. I’ve held off on purchasing a 1200w/s strobe, mostly due to the pandemic, but when I saw that Xplor 1200 I knew I’d be getting it eventually. I’m looking forward to taking it out on a spin for a real-world shoot later this month.

Absolutely great strobe unit. For its power output very reasonably priced and relatively lightweight. The optional AC adapter works great in studio locations with power too. Has the R2 TTL system and works great with it - in particular it doesn't swamp smaller R2 TTL units. It has all the features one would expect - HSS, TTL, Remote, Slave etc. Only reason this isn't 5 star is the glass bulb shield for the bulb wasn't connected correctly. When I unpacked the unit it fell out of the head and broke. I'm in the process of getting a new one.
