This item comes with its own carry case, with a shoulder strap, which is a nice touch that I didn't expect. I recommend studying how it is initially put into the case by the manufacturer because it's difficult to get it to fit back in its case. It seems there is one way to put it back otherwise the case seems way too small. The item looks exactly as it does in the marketing images and performs perfectly. I recommend it if you have a need for it.

Big light for big projects. More light, lower the aperture , deeper the DOF, More space for the creation. Like. Hope they make a metal cover for the bulb. Hope the weight is not to be double.Hope to be smaller mount.

Love it! Though you seriously need to design a bulb cover to protect the bulb. I thought the 600ws bulb covers would work but they don't. They are about 1/4" too short. I did discover that the bulb protector from the Phottix Indra500 will cover it. It's snug and the bulb is slightly exposed on the very end so it's only a temporary fix. Please make a cover...please! It's too expensive of a piece of equipment do not come with the proper protection for travel.

If you need a *lot* of power this is the tool for you. It requires 2 XPLOR 600 or Godox equivalents but gives you a very powerful light when needed. I wish they didn't have the click-stops on the stand mount - but that's a very minor gripe. This pairs well with deep parabolic softboxes to throw a lot of soft light a long way.

Worth every dime I've spent on it. The only thing that it needs is it's own carrying case. Other than that, it's worth the money.

While I really would like to love this portable flash head, but, it does NOT come with a bulb cover. I shoot weddings and I use the 600ws extension head, but wanted more power. But, I just can't bring an uncovered flash head to a wedding thinking it will break in transit. It will be going back to Adorama.

I purchased the flashpoint 1200ws extension head for Xplor 600 (Godox AD600). This head is more useful than I thought it would be. It can be used as both a 600 Ws or 1200 Ws head it will support high-speed sync in TTL have both explore units are TTL. I needed to shoot hummingbirds in a hummingbird moths in blue hour which means I need a high-power high-speed sync the 1200 Ws head work perfectly for my needs. There is about a 2 to 3 1/2 stop drop when using high-speed sync the distance I was oshooting at was between eight and 15 feet so the drop off was even greater than that so the effective power was probably somewhere around 150 to 250 W seconds. I am happy with the unit and would recommend it to anyone who needs a high-speed sync the overpower the daylight or just sheer power . The fact that you can use it with a single Xplor is just a bonus so if you don't want to use 1200 Ws with the included bulb it can use it as a remote head at 600 W, only have the bulbs use. This is really good value for money

This does as advertised and gives you a stop of light over the normal adapter. The carrying cases (they include two) have been updated to give you a velcro sealed opening in the top. One thing that is missing though is another locking ring. They only give you one locking ring to lock the cord into the Xplor base. Why only one locking ring when you have two cords and two base units to attach them to? I am looking forward to using this on some beach shoots next summer. Love the extra power.

This is my initial test of the Flashpoint Portable Extension Head 1200 Ws unit. To my knowledge at the time of this writing, Adorama is the only US company who is carrying this unit. One of the most attractive aspects of the Godox line of battery operated strobes is the ability to turn the units into pack/head units when needed. So when they announced the ‘future’ release of combining units to produce a single high powered head I was impressed. I own Priolite Hotsync MBX1000 units for my Pentax 645Z to use hypersync. I like the option of a strobe whose watt second max is higher than 600 or 640 watt seconds. The thought of having the ability to combine four of my units to produce a 2400ws head is CRAZY and gives me even more options when needed. Like most photographers I tend to use my strobes at half of their maximum power or less, but there are instances where I need maximum power to create the look I want in a shot. Often more power is needed when I am shooting outdoors on location and want to use a smaller aperture to ensure that more of the detail of the environment is visible. My rule of thumb is aperture affects flash intensity and shutter speed affects ambient light. So when I need to use HSS, but also want to narrow my aperture are the times I need a ton of oomph! Sure I can increase my ISO but then the ambient light increases too. So having 1200 WS is like having a car that has 50% more horsepower….it’s there when I need it. Observations: The recycle time at full power using two units is about half of the time compared to a single AD600. At half power the recycle time is about 1/4 of the time. And at 1/4 power the recycle time is almost null. The 1200ws bulb is longer than the 600ws bulb so the normal protective cover will not fit over the bulb. I purchased a Phottix Indra Front Cover, to keep on the remote head with the bulb installed. I removed the foam insert in the cover to allow it to fit onto the bulb/head perfectly. The modeling light intensity is the same on the 1200 head even though it’s attached to two units. The head comes with two bags which have the new access panel on the top to allow for cords to be threaded through them so you can keep the bags zipped up.
