Works great but beware of the bulb falling out
It was a huge benefit to be able to take the weight off the top of the stand and boom arm by using this extension. As a tip to fellow photographers, make sure the bulb is completely inserted into the extension flashhead every time you use it because my bulb fell out while I was setting it up on the flash stand. For future products, they should consider a locking mechanism that keeps the bulb from loosing or falling out. Otherwise, I would give this 5 stars.

Great addition to the unit

A Must Have for the 600
I shoot a lot of Real Estate and this allows me to throw the 600 over my shoulder in a fitting case while hand holding the flash head and bouncing off ceilings and walls. It can't be beat. And, when in the studio or on location, I don't have to have my 600 on the stands, just the head. No worries about it falling to the floor.

Flashpoint Portable 600ws Extension FlashHead For The XPLOR 600 (Bowens Mount)
This product is a necessity. Putting a 7lb unit high on a stand or boom is an invitation to disaster. It's inexpensive and will lessen your liability insurance.

A must have for C-stands and firing from high angles with a large softbox
These are great, a must-have if you're planning to use them on a C-stand or in a studio. I like to fire my lights from high up and wouldn't be able to do that with just the main lights which are heavy. I added 4 stars because the handle to rotate it up and down broke off. Down the road, I'd also suggest getting the AC battery adapter and an extra light bulb.

Very useful product
Having this extension gives me the ability to raise my modifiers higher. Also, if I need to change any of the settings on the unit I don't have to worry bringing the unit down to chases batteries or make adjustments. Best of all I can keep the modifier in place without worrying about it leaning over too far because of the weight of the unit.

I should have had one from the beginning!
For the first six months or so, I only used my new XPLOR600 at low power in my basement product photography studio, because I was afraid of knocking over the carefully sandbagged and balanced stand if I even tried to move it. Once I got Flashpoint extension head, it changed everything. Instead of having to balance the weight of the whole unit at the end of a boom arm, I just have to worry about this extension head and the modifier, which weigh considerably less. The rest of the unit is placed near the base for a much lower center of gravity. The carry strap and bag makes it much easier to use on location, where XPLOR600 is invaluable when trying to overpower the sun. This has made my XPLOR600 orders of magnitude safer and more useable!

Great Investment
It is a great investment. It is almost an insurance policy for your strobe since if it falls and breaks it only costs a fraction of what the strobe itself costs. It works very well, just as expected.

Great for Shedding Weight!
This is the perfect accessory if you're looking to use the 600W light as a hair light or looking to shed some weight off a light stand. The last thing anyone wants is to risk a heavy light falling onto a subject, product, or the ground for that matter. This is where this little gem comes in handy!

AD 600 Extension head
Work as advertised and provides reduced weight at top of light stand.
I would prefer the newer style pivot mount without the ratcheting but this does work ok.

Excellent addition to the Xplor 600 kit
The Flashpoint 600ws Extension FlashHead is awesome. It removes the fear of the Xplor 600 flash unit from crashing down on the subject or object you are photographing. I think it is a must for any photographer who is hanging lights up high or above things.

Wonderfull Light-stick
I have been very impressed with this sturdy strobe light extension kit. It is the main reason I got this light, so I could mount the power pack down low on the light stand and make this a lot less top-heavy. It weighs just 11# along with the light-stand and small reflector. I feel I could easily carry this around with me at a crowded event and not worry so much about getting knocked over.

Great head but could use some minor design adjustments.
Outside of clamp handle that hits the head when you adjust the angle of the head it's a great product. The handle does have the ability to be pulled away from the head to clear it but I think it would be good to change the handles angle just enough to clear the head without having to pull it away from the head. Minor detail. Using on my Glow profund parabolic with the focusing rod takes a great amount of weight off the setup and lessens the need for counterweights. I wish the cord was a longer but you just need to keep the mono light within the length of the cord. So far loving the Flashpoint products.

10/10 would recommend if you like your strobe to not be an expensive paperweight
This bad boy stops my expensive xplor600 from hitting the ground and ruining my session. Very lightweight, easy to setup and even includes a pouch for the body of your strobe to hand off to your lighting assistant. I’m not trying to carry that thing around. That’s what I pay them for

You have Xplor600? you must have this!!
This extension change the game of my heavys modifiers, before I got to use a 10 pounds sand bag in counter balance in the boom, and with lighter modifiers now I can extend it longer than never!! and also with the carry on bag with strap my assistance can deliver the 600 watts power with the boom hand pole with a bigger modifier!!

Your back and lighting assistants will sing praises if you use this extender. I never shoot outdoors without it. Attach the 600 to your lower light stand for more stability.

Great way to take some of the weight of the top of your light stand.
I use this to take the weight off the top of the light stand/boom arm. and then i use a super clamp to attach the light body to the base of the light stand and add more stability (still add additional weight just to be safe)

It save my flash
Great extension it helps a lot, This way I don't put weight on the top of the stand and prevent flash to fall. also have other uses.
