Much improved over past versions
Unlike the past versions, whatever the new white stuff on the screws is, it doesn't loosen up over time unlike the red stuff. Much more reliable than these replacement hotshots used to be.

When after a hard year of abusing my Godox V1, the plastic shoe mount started to show signs of wear where it would not lock well. I also have the bad habit of grabbing the camera by the flash at times. Bad, BAD habit. As an alternative to a new flash, Adorama sales rep, Julio, recommended the replacement which I had no idea was an option. Now, after purchasing and replacing it, which was VERY EASY, it's like having a new flash. I will buy another replacement hot shoe and always have it on me...
