Just a shout out to Gino M. for his Godox/Flashpoint work around. It DOES work great! Thanks, bro! The pin itself is very soiid, too. I'm ordering three more.

It's a shiny bit of metal that fits into lights and grip equipment. What else is there to say? It is very shiny and fits quite well.

The two dimples to lock it in are pretty awesome.

For those of you having trouble fitting this pin into Godox or Flashpoint socket, I have a solution. I cut the top large indent off. See photo. Now it works well

As others have stated, the reduced diameter portion can be too far from the end for a light or modifier to grab. My main light (AD600 extension head) does reach the reduced diameter portion, but the screw doesn't reach the indented portion of baby pin. That means it's free to rotate around the pin (no matter how tight you make it, it will slip on the polished steel). This is a huge pain when setting up an overhead light at an angle. I had to wrap the pin in gaff tape to prevent this.

I would have thought that I couldn't go wrong with a simple steel rod, but I found that this baby pin doesn't fit my gear securely. The distance from the ends of the pin to the reduced diameter sections at both ends is too great, by several millimeters. So they don't securely fit my Manfrotto superclamps. They also don't fit my Buff strobes. I had to replace them with the equivalent Avenger product, which is the same price as it happens. Other than that, they are heavy solid steel, very shiny, and the right diameter. :-)

This pin was (in my opinion) the same quality as more expensive options, and works wonderfully! Good machining & even diameter. Can't beat it for such a great price!

I got this pin free with the flashpoint c-stand ( awesome stand btw). This pin will not fit completely in the Godox s-type bracket so that the tightening screw on the bracket will not captures the narrow part of the pin, which conceivably can slip right through, dropping ad200pro and and light modifier. It is also not collared so it could also slip through the gobo knuckle and achieve the same calamity. I am talking worst case scenario but i have seen this and more happen. Otherwise it is a great piece of kit.

Esential for your set up if it did not come with your “C” stand

Has a good heft to it, feels solid, and durable. Essential for if you want to mount a strobe to the knuckle of a c-stand, just make sure it will fit your strobe

Worked great for what I needed it for.
Be prepared for any situation with the Long Double 5/8" Baby Pin, a versatile and high-quality tool that's a staple in the motion picture industry. Crafted from durable stainless steel, this baby pin is designed to withstand the rigors of any set or shoot.
Measuring an extra-long 5.75", this baby pin is specifically designed to be used with super clamps, rod assemblies, and grip/gobo/knuckle-head atop light stands. It can also be used in conjunction with Century Stands, providing you with a wide range of applications.
The Long Double 5/8" Baby Pin attaches via a 5/8" baby pin receiver hole, offering a choice of two dimpled pockets along the length of the pin for the tightening grip handle. This feature allows you to take full advantage of the extended design, making it ideal for situations where space is at a premium.
The excess length protruding from the grip head permits a light or other accessory to be mounted with a 5/8" receiver, adding to its versatility. Despite its name, the "Baby" is anything but small when it comes to its capabilities. Just like the "Junior" designation on the Flashpoint 12' Junior Steel Wheeled Stand [FPLSRB12], "Baby" is a term of endearment for this robust and reliable tool.
Whether you're securing clothing, accessories, or using it as a decorative element, the Long Double 5/8" Baby Pin is an affordable and stylish solution for your needs.
