I use this octabox for everyday on location portraits and in the studio. Super easy to set up and break down. For the price you really can't beat it!

This octabox is big, light and very easy to set-up and disassemble. Its zipper makes things much-much easier to set-up. I plan to buy another one, and a smaller size, same brand, softbox. Of all softboxes I have had to this date this is durable, well built, has no hot-spots, emits soft and well distributed light, and again is very easy to put together without bending/damaging the rods. I even carry it with me to some out of studio photographic sessions. For the price is an excellent choice. Keep in mind that you may need a good light-stand, and probably a couple of sand bags to keep it steady due to its size.

Love using this in the studio for great soft light. I have also used it on location with the Flashpoint lights and battery pack....bulky but once setup was fantastic.

Same deal as the 3ft version, only clumsier set up. First time assembly can be a chore, but after that, the rods a bit easier to deal with. Not easy to set up outdoors if you want to keep it clean, best to set up before a location shoot, however, when assembled it does not fit in my car. Predictable light fall off and feathers well. Nice catchlights. The worst thing is there are no guides for the rods, just a loop and a pocket for the rods to reside, and during assembly they can pop out of the pocket (x8 rods) which can become quite annoying when in a time crunch. My solution was to gaffer tape the rods to their respected places and to leave them there even in storage. Total set up and break down time saver.

A really nice, solid item. The material is very tough and seems like it will hold up very well over the long haul.

This softbox is excellent for a group of people as well as a single portrait and the light is a beautiful soft light.

I know, it doesn't say it includes a speed ring, but I was talking to an Adorama rep about buying it. I said "I need to buy a speed ring to attach this to a Flashpoint 320M, right?" and he said "no, it is included." ...So I just wanted to make it 100% clear to anybody else who is getting mixed messages: there is no speed ring included, not even a Flashpoint-ready one. Even buying the SR separate, still a great value.

I was amazed when I was looking for a oct. box and found this one at a course I took with Mark Wallace. He said that Adomora had sent it to him for review and he kept it. I bought it because of his review of it and am glad I did. It gives great light and has become my main light in my studio. With the zipper it is one of the easiest soft boxes to put together. It may not be of the strongest material but the price for it is a way less than the other softboxes I have in the studio and I never take them down so I don't have a complaint! I would not only recommend it to a friend, I would recommend it to my mother.

This is an EXCELLENT SUPERB softbox. For the price it can't be beat. Good even source of light from it using my Elinchrom Quadra and even using a Nikon SB900 still produced a great light source.

Easy to assemble, I would recommend that if you get a flashpoint speed ring you aline the zipper with the nob on the speed ring. Produce really soft light. The only draw back that I can see is that it so big that you dont really want to leave it in your studio and on location it cant be a problem to move around.

Considering the size of the octabox, it is easy to setup. Takes about 10 minutes. Perfect size for full lenght portraits or for very soft light. Make sure to pick up the speedring for your appropriate strobe. I thought it came with one and ended up having to wait another week until the speedring came before i could use it.

I set it up in about 10 minutes. Directions were included. It seems like it will work fine although I haven't shot with it yet. It's a big, white, octagon softbox that seems well made to me.

As we continue to look at budget-priced studio portrait photography lighting modifiers, I've discovered that while Octaboxes are great for portraits, there's a $10 shoot-through umbrella that produces..
The Flashpoint PZ series Soft Box comes in various sizes. The patented easy set-up and tear down zipper which is easier to assemble & disassemble. All softboxes come with baffle, rescessed front and carry bag.
