The quality of light output is less harsh than I expected. It's slightly diffused. There's plenty of output. There are some design issues. The modeling is turned on using a momentary contact push button. So it is basically useless. It very bright. The mounting bracket's screw for attaching the camera is too long (could damage your camera). When I set the camera on top of the screw to mount it the knob for the mounting screw would not turn. I had to lift the camera up and push the camera mounting screw up by its knob to get it to turn. The mounting bracket tripod attachment point is off center to the camera mounting point making difficult to center the light on a tripod. The tripod mounting point is a small round plate that is not large enough to provide good side-to-side support so the camera will tilt slightly to the left or right. I did not use the light stand attachment. So I can't to how well it works. The knobs used to attach the mounting bracket to the light uses two large knobs that stick out about an inch. This prevents using a small lens like a 50mm because the camera cannot be moved forward enough on the mounting bracket so the lens is not seeing the light's doughnut hole. Centering the camera within the light's doughnut hole is difficult at best. Once I got the camera centered I would just leave the mounting bracket on the light. However, doing so makes the using the nice case that come with the light useless. The light output is blinding. After shooting a couple test shots I could not see well for about 20 minutes (models will hate it). Plus, I ended up with "Red Eye" problems. I don't know if this is because I artificial lens in both eyes (see: Test Shot). Sorry for having to use my ugly face. The model I use for lighting tests was not available.
