Overall this seems like a great set up; and when it works it is great. But the transmitter is sealed and the batteries only last a couple of months with no way to replace them or disengage them so they don't drain so fast. Recommend you keep looking at other products.

I love this product, I tried one out some time ago and was very impressed. I'm a professional photographer and use these mostly for studio work they work great with most any kind of flash system, I just recently bought more of them, great for location work too. I use them with speedlites and studio strobes and so far have no regrets and the price can't be beat. give them a try I think you'll be happy....

Worked fine when I first brought it. Then I put it on the shelf for a few months while I shot sports photography, took it out for a portrait shoot and the trigger wouldn't fire. Borrowed a trigger from a friend and all the recievers worked. Thought it was a battery problem but can't see anyway to replace a battery in the trigger. No way to replace the battery means you have to by a new trigger, not a good option.

This set-up worked only once for me, when I first got it. Then I put it away while I waited months to get the matching remote for studio strobes. When that finally arrived, the original set was dead - no lights, no firing, nothing. Now it's too late to send back.

Pretty good product for what it is. It is a bit plasticy, but still very manageable. The umbrella holder is a really good added benefit. Also, has two hot shoe mounts on the flash reciever. Sounds triveal, but it comes in handy when you need a wierd angle on your flash. If your on a budget I would definitely recomend this. It is pretty consistent.

I solicited the salesman's advice on equipment I would need in order to learn about off-camera flash using a Canon 430EX-II and a Canon Rebel 3Ti (the camera was hanging around my neck as I was speaking to him). He told me that I would need this remote trigger. Later when I tried to take a few hours on a weekend to give the equipment a test run, I realized (a) I couldn't find a place to plug the transmitter into my camera, and so would have to go back to exchange it (and this was the second item from that particular transaction that needed to be returned); then, after double-checking my camera manual, that (b) my camera will trigger an external flash wirelessly without any additional transmitter. Next time I need advice, I'll take a quick detour through the parking lot to 17th Street Photo.

Works with any hotshoe flash, or with plug adapter, any external sync strobe. This is simple and works fairly well, distance may have been my only issue when it did not fire reliably. I mount it to a light stand in a light box with a 'magic slipper' like device and set the strobe to the manual setting required for the shot. Affordable way to get the flash OFF THE CAMERA!

That work well but do miss a hit now and then!! But for the price I think they are a great buy!

Worked well right out of the box. My Sigma EF-610 DG Super was a bit of an issue to get firing. They are tough to set up but I got them going.

Misfires, poor range, cheap construction.

I love it and I love the price. I don't see why I should buy an expensive one when this one does the same thing.

I would recommend this product if your demands are not critical and you get one that works as advertised. I use this to trigger Vivitar 285 flashes with a Canon Rebel XTi and Olympus E500. So far (limited use), it has triggered every time. However, it will not do the specified sync speed of 1/200-1/250. Shutter band begins to show above 1/125sec. [...]

Currently I have an Olympus FL-36R that can be activated wirelessly but you have to have line of sight. With this I no longer need line of sight, I've used it for one photo shoot so far plus some testing around (probably 100 shots so far). No misfires, popped every time. I will say the receiver is a bit bulky. I also have a strobe light (Flashpoint 620m), I like how I can use it to pop that as well but it just looks bulky hanging there. Still works though. Compared to a lot of other options this is a much cheaper alternative. I wouldn't mind having some of the more expensive sets but my wallet really likes these.

I just got this a few days ago, and have only played with it a little bit. It does feel a bit cheaply made...but so far it has worked PERFECTLY. I was able to set it up and use it in less than 5 minutes. I really don't think you can beat this, for the price!

I wanted an inexpensive trigger set to use on location with my photoflex softboxes and nikon sb600 flashes. They've fired every time and have more than adequate range.Tested inside and they even fire when triggered from behind a huge rock fireplace ! Only complaint is the transmitter doesnt have an easily replaceable battery. Looks like you have to pry it open somehow. Not willing to try that just yet.Overall more than I can expect from a trigger set in this price range.

Works great so far, just hope it lasts, much cheaper than others. Only problem is will not transfer Canon ETTL info, have to set manually.

very easy to use, shopped around and found similiar for twice the price with the very same description and appearance. for the off camera setup I wanted it works great, with a non-dedicated flash, works as well as the extreme high dollar poppers

Much more reliable than using IR remote

It is pretty reliable, the flash is working every time. I haven't tested the maximum distance but at 15 meter it still work. I would recommend to buy a second transmitter if you plan to use it with a flash meter so you don't have to remove it from the camera every time you want to take a measurement.

Used on d300, the 1/200's speed is not consistent. Sometimes gets a clear image at 320,250,200 other times you get that shutter band. At 160 its consistent.

Ahh the economy. It has driven many of us insane trying to figure out how to do more with less. Clients constantly approach us asking for miracles with shoestring budgets. A fine example is shooting ..
The MT-16 hotshoe trigger, a controller used for camera synchronized triggering the flash, is made up of transmitter and receiver, two parts. The electric circuit is designed with sleepy function, so it has very low Power Consumption, one battery can be used more than one year. It can be used for any hotshoe traditional cameras or digital camera. The receiver uses dry battery, which is safe, economical and convenient to use.
Using the micro-computer control to decode, it has powerful anti-interference ability. Respond quickly, the maximum sync speed of mechanical shutter is up to 1/250 seconds, the digital shutter up to 1/2000 seconds. It can meet any different shutter camera sync flash.
This product utilizes multi-channel isolation technology and a code the pair function. The user can, according to different needs, freely choose some kind or several kinds of transmitters and their receivers for pair use, so as to fit the shooting environment. We can set the triggers in different channels for different shootings, no interference from each other.
The transmitter has a sync cord jack, hot shoe jack, launch indicator, and test button, while the receiver has an umbrella plug hole, 2 shoe jacks, single indicator, power button, and channel switch, and uses two AAA batteries.
