I put one 1.5 lb sandbag in each pocket, then I hung it on my tripod (setup in my parlor). The next morning the two pocket bags were separated. The one side has the hook-eye on it, and was still hanging, but the other side was sewed to the first - - The Stitches broke and this bag was on the floor. Luckily I have a sewing machine - I make my own curtains and household stuff. I sewed it back together using the same stitch line and it is perfect now. People should be aware of the stitching issue- or was it a one-off.

It works as well it should as a sand bag. Though the shipping was more than the price of product itself. Real shameful

Bought this bag to use with my cantilevered light stand as a counterweight. I needed a bag that held at least 5 pounds but was smallerr or shaped differently to allow me to keep it in the bag with the light stand. This bag works for that. The only complaint I have it that the metal ring between the two sides is already ripping out and I havent even used it yet!

Well made and does the job preventing a light stand from toppling over when using umbrellas or soft box.

I needed these sandbags to weigh down my new c-stand. I ordered 2. They arrived in good condition and they are extremely well constructed. 2 zippers on each side ensure the sand will not spill out. They look cool too! Just right for what I needed.

Handy sand bag, easy to keep a few in the trunk if you need them. Great for the price.

These bags were more than advertised. They are well made with double zippers that keep your sand or gravel from leaking out. The come with handles on top for easy placement and the stripes help make them visible without being distracting. This version is the lighter weight option so look for the heavier ones if you have large equipment.

The sandbag came ripped and leaked out sand in all of my camera bag, when tried to return under warrenty to adorama they insisted i pay full return shipping, essentially doubling the cost of the product and making it useless to try and have replaced. would not recommend, go for a higher quality bag

Fill it with rocks or sand. Leave it on the ground and connect it to your tripod with a bungee cord.

I have the 10 lbs. version. I would (did) recommend this. From the comments it appears that this product has changed slightly through the years it's been offered, but the current version is pretty much what's stated. It does have double zippers on each side, which is sufficient to keep the gravel I use as weight safely in place with reasonable care. BTW, I got my gravel from a local home supply store. It's pea gravel, not fine sand. The quality is more than sufficient given the price. I don't expect them to fall apart with reasonable use, say in my studio.

Great product has a double zipper to ensure the sand doesn't come out easy. If I could promote this product on my youtube channel I would... hint hint adorama let me do it

You get what you pay for. Inner zippers were sewn poorly or arrived broken. Bags split and broke on first job. Definitely light duty. Do not drop. Spend the extra money on heavy duty Mathews bags.

The bag I received had no zipper just a small amount of velcro. Sand spills out everywhere. Some have suggested using plastic bags but the bag is stitched through the middle so it is almost impossible to get bags in the sides and then get them filled.

I purchased one of these 10 lb blue and black striped bags and one of the smaller 5 lb black bags. The reviews on the site are a combination for both types of bags. The black 5 lb bag is almost useless unless you don't mind sand everywhere. There are NO zippers, just a velcro flap, however, the blue with black stripe bag is well worth the money and has 2 zippers on each side to prevent the sand from leaking out. I don't think the zippers are very strong but once the sand is in and the zippers zipped up, I see no reason they might fail. So in review, the blue with black stripe 10 lb bag is a good purchase worthy of 5 stars. I'm sorry I purchased the black 5 lb bag.

I purchased one of these 5 lb black sand bags and one of the 10 lb blue and black striped. The reviews on the site are a combination for both types of bags. This black 5 lb bag is almost useless unless you don't mind sand everywhere. There are NO zippers, just a velcro flap that does not seal well at all. Each side is also stitched vertically through the middle so trying to fit a ziplock bag inside is not worth the struggle. I plan to empty the sand and put bolts in this bag but I did not purchase it to have to find something other than sand to use it.

I highly recommend these to add stability to your tripod. I fill zip lock baggies with sand, then place them in the pouch.

Filling them yourself is not that easy. You have to find the playground sand, which is easy but then you should probably put the sand in a plastic bag first.

Purchased 4 weight bags and very pleased with overall construction and quality for the price. Doubled zippers on both bag flaps, carrying handle and back brace. Use with FlashPoint C Stand and other light stands. Overall good product and will do the job.

Ordered 2 of these bags for studio use. Overall nice and large for an excellent price. Each side has a double zipper. One of the two I ordered had a defective inner zipper that won't seal. The other is fine. Not worth paying the postage to send back for replacement. I filled several small zip lock bags with sand and put them inside. more than enough weight for my application. I use 2 of them on the legs of my boom stand. Probably can hold more than 10 pounds easily. The contractor needs to check on the zippers before shipping. Overall I'm fine with these and they work as intended.

It's a bag, it holds sand and small rocks. It works great, zips up tight to avoid spills and is as easy to carry as a weight can get! The blue striping does help visibility in dark environments, but I wouldn't call it "bright" either.

Extremely Well Made
By MARYANN E.
Not really much to say here. It is a well built bag that you need to add sand to. As with all of these bags, use a ziplock storage bag to stick the sand in.
Made of nylon fabric, with two heavy duty zippers on each side of the saddle bag to increase strength and resist leakage.
These bags may be filled on location with sand, etc.
Not intended to be filled with water!
Large handle on both sides.
Always use a sand bag on the tripod base or a light stand when using a boom arm.
