The softbox came with no assembly instructions. For a new user instructions are rather important

Love it. Is a good product and I've used it quite a bit. The corners are slightly off compared to the picture. But since it has 6 corners it doesn't look weird to your clients.

my dog decided to urinate on this softbox while it was laying on the floor. I'm not sure how to clean it without damaging it. Any suggestions?

Rods are very brittle and break easily. Take care when opening them. Fortunately, Adorama replaced the ones that broke and i received the replacements before my next project.

I intend to use this for product/food photography and believe it will work really well. One word of caution: getting it open is super easy, but closing it ? I had to ask for help from someone with strong fingers to squeeze the buttons. Yes, I would recommend this product.

So far the HexaPop 24? seems well built and well put together. I think it will be useful for quick and casual set ups. I?m looking forward to combining this with my larger Soft box.

First off, I got this as part of a kit. It's a nice little box. It come with a speedlight mount and Bowens mount. Swapping between the 2 involves removing and re-installing 4 very small screws. I will probably use it with just speedlights due to it's size but you should plan accordingly. It does not have an internal diffuser, just the outer. Another reason to use speedlights with the wide angle diffuser covering the light lens. There also is no grid. It's incredibly light and easy to set up. Just pull the ribs back to the ring and they easily lock. Several people have given this box low ratings because they don't know how to close it. It really is quite easy. They are trying to squeeze the release tabs while holding the box in the air with the ribs under tension. And the tension is significant. To relieve the tension simply place the box on a table, the floor or against the wall and push gently as you squeeze the release. This tension is released and the box closes. Easy peasy. Will this be your main box? Probably not unless it's your only box. But I can see taking it outdoors when one modifier is needed and size and weight matter. Also it can be a great second light in the studio.

In my honest opinion, a four star rating would be fair. I like everything about how easy it was to set up. Just a few seconds needed to prop the rods in place. It's perfect for on the go flash photography with a stand flash mounting bracket if you have a Godox or other flash with an on board radio receiver. I swapped out the flash mounting bracket with the included plastic Bowens mount. I used the Bowens mount to mount to an S2 flash bracket and used that mount my Nikon SB-910 flash along with a Flashpoint receiver. The rod release mechanism is a bit stiff but did not present too much of an issue for me as I placed the softbox face down and used both hands to simultaneously push the locks open. The reason for taking off one star is that I wish I had a spot to add on a grid on the front. Other than that, I loved it!

I've been using these for several years, coupled with EVOLVE 200PRO (usually a pair with the twin head). I also have a pair of 600PROs that I use with larger diffusers but this has become my go-to for on the go outdoor portraiture for individuals or couples. After 5 years I broke one of the rods in a fall, but the broken rod protected the rest of the rig. Came back today to order a replacement rod. They're only $1.99 each, so I highly recommend getting an extra so you've got an extra if needed!

This is my second of these soft boxes for use in my home studio with speed lights. It's a nice combo of affordability, portability and convenience. It gets four stars because my original one snapped one of the connectors to the ring and I had to order a replacement (had been open and closed probably a dozen times). Good for upper body portraits/head shots and product work. I haven't tried lighting a large area with and suspect it would be too small with speed lights to fill the space.

Lightweight, Portable, Functional

I use this for single and couple portrait sessions on location. I mount a SB-910, partnered with the FlexTT5 transceiver. The Flash head fits through the opening without contacting the rim, so could also (though I don't) attach the diffuser on the SB-910 or gel filters. It's the most ready-to-go softbox setup I have... I find the umbrella like collapse function to be particularly practical, though it makes a "pop" sound as it snaps down when released, so don't do that where the sound would...

Spectacular softbox - SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE,
By Mark S.
I have several softboxes for studio work. I wanted a "traveling" softbox that was simple to set up, equally simple to take down and stow away, and, most importantly, an excellent light modifier. The GLOW 24 is all of that and more. I use it for "environmental" portraits in the beautiful woods behind my studio. The dappled light through the trees provides incredible bokeh and the Glow 24 gives perfect portrait light every time. I use it with a Nikon SB 900 set at 4 feet and 1/128 power. Work...

The Glow HexaPop 24 brings flattering, soft and rich color lighting to harsh direct on camera flash. Use it as a key light off camera, with a remote trigger, or attach it to your hotshoe camera automation with a camera bracket and cable.
The lightweight HexaPop opens easily and positively locks to create the perfect reflector diffuser. The ultra efficient parabolic reflector has virtually no fall-off from edge to edge. Glow engineers use UV-A and UV-R diffuser materials and are exceptionally heat resistant. The internal silver reflector fabric rivals all other flexible materials, imitating polished lame. Your speedlight attaches to the speedring assembly and aligns almost all brands of flashes.
The unique six-sided shape and narrow profile 22 inch diameter by 8.5 inch depth, provides a big 105-degree light spread in a light, space saving package. The shadows are slight and beautifully graduated. Colors are rich and vibrant without the flat pancake 'flashpan' look of direct strobe.
Background: The marriage of the softbox to the umbrella.
Not so unusual today. But this baby was born to bring joy to all the users of flashes, popular in today's dedicated shoe strobes, with harsh, sharp and hard quality, endemic of zoom Fresnel panel design.
Softboxes diffuse and spreads light through baffles and reflection, but primarily the light is directly reaching the subject. As the nature of the source light is so widely distributed, it reaches all surfaces with less contrast, filling in details and shadows at the expense of ill defined contours. Less control of light path - divergent.
Umbrellas produce soft focused light from reflected curved surfaces. The sharper quality of directional light beams makes for a more seductive treatment for people and skin tones. Light aimed at the center focal point bounces off the internal surfaces at different angles, but leaves the umbrella as parallel rays.
The product of this marriage of softbox and umbrella: A parabolic umbrella that does not cast divergent or convergent light creating more natural sun-like shadows and fill light. The parabolic reflector shape directs all the light in one controllable direction. By adding the diffuser design more beautiful light caresses the subject.
