These ( I bought two) combined with my antigue (1968) Smith Victor 12"reflectors, and a boom cone reflector for hair light and daylight led (par30) lamps in these holders, a total of less than 60 watts electricity, give me easy f 5.6 or faster at A.S.A. (oops I'm suppose to call the identical number "I.S.O" these days.) Give me enough control to really get confused. I've been using spun fiberglass to diffuse the umbrella lights, and Gossen LunaPro to adjust distances for accurate distancing. This seems to, almost, let me act like I know what I'm up to!

I purchased this socket fixture along with a fluorescent 600 watt bulb for use as a modeling light (with silver reflecting umbrella). It gives stronger light for modeling than the modeling light in most mono-lights. There isn't much that could ever go bad. It is well made, pivots nicely and mounts on a 5/8th inch standard size stud of most light stands. I have it mated to a 33 inch umbrella and the light produced is perfect for modeling. It is small and light weight so it doesn't add much weight to carry for your paid photo shoots.

The Flashpoint Single Socket Light Fixture for Light Stands with Umbrella Mount is perfect for my photography and videography endeavors. I use the Flashpoint Single Socket Light Fixture with my Bluetooth Philips Hue Light and it works perfectly to depict various scales of emotion with each use. I truly love the product as a backlight, because it doesn't interfere with the photo or video. It simply compliments each shoot in the way I intended it to upon purchase of the item. I highly recommend purchasing Flashpoint Single Socket Light Fixture to help take your work to the next level.

Nothing much to say about a simple light socket. It works well with my 48" umbrella and AC strobe. Enough said.

It has a traditional Edison socket, so would have liked it to be threaded for a generic cheap reflector, but it isn't. But it seems to be well constructed and has a nice long power cord, which I really appreciate. I would buy it again.

These sockets use an unusual method of contacting the side of your screw-base bulb. instead of using the metal screw threads as the contact, the designers decided to use a springy metal clip about half way down the socket. In my two copies, the clip was flat against the inside of the plastic socket and did not make contact with the side of the bulb base. No contact, no light! All you have to do is take an ordinary screwdriver and bend the side tab a bit so that it makes contact when you screw in the bulb. I used a pair of these to hold household LED floodlights for a video shoot and they worked fine. Good thing I tested them in advance! Lesson: Always test new gear before you need it.

Even though it says it handles tungsten lamps up to 600w, these melted and stopped working when I used them with 500w bulbs. Do not use with any bulbs that put off any heat. It will melt.

The Flashpoint Single Socket Light Fixture accepts 3 popular AC powered Edison base (E26) light sources for use on any standard light stand for still or video work. The heat resistant socket will handle tungsten halogen (3200K) lamps up to 400W maximum as well as compact fluorescents (3200 - 6000K) and screw-mount flash such as our AC Slave 72 and 45 ws models. A rocker on-off switch is conveniently located in the back. The socket tilts over 90 degrees and can mount standard umbrellas.
