Flashpoint Adapter Profoto Head to Elinchrom Accessories.

I am giving this 5 stars. Great price, does what you want. I leave this on my Elinchrom octal 74". It holds on with thumb screws which is a tight fit for my thumbs between the adapter and the modifier. I don't think it would be great if you were looking for a quick on-off adapter. It's great if you leave it on. I may even replace the thumb screws with more permanent screws and a drop of lock tight to keep it in place. This thing is solid. My only fear is that the rivets that hold it together might come loose some day. We'll see. For now it is solid tight and a great modifier.

This is exactly what you think it should be. It feels well made, sturdy and fits profoto heads great. It is constructed of all metal except the rubber. the profoto end is secured to the elinchrom end with rivets. It should hold well for a long while. If it does ever give out, then I might take it to a welder and have them take a look at it. the elinchrom end fits using screws and there is little space between the black elinchrom end and the alinchrom modifier, so you have to fit your fingers between them to screw the screws tight. You can do it. I plan on leaving this on my octal. If I was constantly changing from one modifier to the next and needed speed I would go with the elinchrom made one. But for the price of 2 of these you get the elinchrom made one. This is a good adapter and I plan on getting another one if I get another elinchrom modifier. One more thing, it allows the profoto head to go all the way through, so there is no stop like the elinchrom made one. I like that cause it allows me to focus the spot. But be carefull you dont burn anything.

I've had some Excalibur lights for years now, and they keep working leaving me no reason to replace or upgrade them. However the adapter rings I have for them are junk. I just happened to stumble upon these Flashpoint adapters and figured they were worth a gamble. I'm very pleased with these rings, my Chimera rods fit in smoothly and the adapter itself fits on the Excalibur heads perfectly. The rotating lock screw works great, but I do wish the thumbscrew was facing outward on the ring - not a big deal. Overall a fantastic value. I've used a lot of monolights the past 30 or so years including Speedotron, ProFoto, White Lightning, Photogenic and Alien Bees. The only adapters that I'd say are better than these Flashpoints are the Photogenics. At this point I'll be looking closely at other light shaping tools from Flashpoint. Like I said, I'm real impressed.

It is not easy to find accessories for the inexpensive Excalibur Light system. Excalibur Monolights are quality mono lights at a very reasonable prices. These very economical speed ring adapters allowed me to use many of the soft boxes I own with my very powerful 6400 Excalibur Mono lights. Solid aluminum construction with quality hardware
