Small package - big performance!

This is quite a small ball head but it does a great job even with a heavy DSLR+lens. Getting in the quick release plate could be little bit easier but put in perspective the price and you got a great product for a very good price.

Tripod Ball Head

I really like the use of this head. Although very easy to use sometimes it can keep me from getting those shots that require Portrait rather than landscape... I prefer to do without a tripod but when the shot calls for it, I really like this product and it is not too heavy so I don't mind carrying it around.

OK but far from rock solid.

This head is not as solid as I would have like it to have been. If you are doing a slow shutter then you better lock up the mirror and use a cable or delay because you will get vibrations. Another issue I have with this head is it does not lock down exactly where you set it, it will drift slightly as you are tightening it down. If you are on a budget it's OK but there is better out there in the same price range.

Good Ball Head for the money

This is a good ball tripod head for the money. It holds a good amount of weight, is very easy to use, and is very precise. However I wish it the hardware ring to attach it to the tripod legs would get tighter with hand tightening. When it turn the head it starts to unscrew from the legs. This is a minor issue for me, so it still gets 4 stars from me.

Surprisingly tough little Ball Head

I got one of these for my Nikon D7000 and it works very well for such a small ball head. It rotates easily with the use of several control knobs, and is easy to take on and off the mount. I liked it so well I ordered another one for my mono-pod. For the money I dont see any need to replace it with a more expensive or bigger one. It does everything I need one to do for my camera.

heavy weight for a light weight price

A pleasant surprize, light and tough. I spend alot of time on the road, the tripod gets put behind the seat and people pile stuff on top of it.After months of use and abuse it still looks and works like new. It has survied boat trips in to the marsh and swamps, cleans up like new once it has been hosed off, marsh mud sticks to everthing. Good buy for the price.

Good product, have found no negatives

Good product for the price. At times the head needs readjusting - could be because I did not tighten ball joint lock enough.

Manufacturing quality is hit or miss

The first one I bought was fantastic and still kicking. The second one I bought broke after very little use; the screw that secures the pano rotation of the head fell out and appears to have been epoxied in - the threads didn't strip, it appears to have just not been properly machined. Very disappointed.

easy to use, love the quick release

I bought this to go along with the Flashpoint Carbon Fiber F-1228. It is a perfect combination. Easy to use, strong for my DSLR and heavy lenses. So far have used outdoors in freezing New England weather!!

Best ball head for the money

When I first opened the ball head I was very surprised at how small and lightweight it was. But after using it I really found out that lightweight doesn't mean wimpy, it stood up to some very difficult camera positions and did not fail. I would love to see the knobs below but larger than they are but they can be worked with. I have enjoyed working with this head and think it will bring me great pleasure to work with it in the future.

Good Ballhead for the price

OK this was my first ball head I have ever purchased. Not knowing anything about them I did some research and found this one to try. Not the cheapest ball head and certainly not the most expensive one either. The ball head does hold my camera securely. I think you do have to tighten down the adjustment knobs with quite a bit of force though. If you want to have your camera be at a certain level, start with the camera a little high and set the knobs. After they are secure it seems that the ball "settles in" and then won't move. Not sure if this is normal or not for a ball head but not really a big deal if you ask me.

Great Ball Head

The Ball Head meets my expectations, its 11 lbs rating is within the limits of the equipment I anticipate using. I selected the F-2 over the F9 because the F-2 has a degree scale for rotating incorporated and I wanted that for panorama shots. My only negative comment is that a little of the lubricating oil leaked out from between the baseplate and ball body, it is very viscous and difficult to get off.

Very nice head

This is a very nice tripod head that feels quite sturdy once it is set. My only complaint is a very small amount of movement (droop) after you lock the ball in place and allow the weight of cam/lens to be supported by the tripod.

Low cost solution

Use with U-104 Monopod. I'm very pleased with the low cost combination. Holds a Canon 7D with zoom lens, very firm, easy to adjust. Definitely would recommend

Great Ball Head for the money

Even if you have a lot of money to spend on a Ball Head, this is one of the best you can buy! Don't let its small size fool you, it can support a heavy zoom lens. It is fast and easy to use. At under $60 this is an amazing Ball Head!!

Works Very Well

This is my first ball head. I purchased this with the Flashpoint F1228. The two work well together. I rate this 3 stars becasue I think it does -- and adequatly -- what it is intened to do, but nothing above and beyond. The carry case for the Flashpoint F1228 is a bit small and the tripod and attached ballhead barely fit, but they do. The ballhead offers a a dynamic range of positions and easily. There is a quick release.

Awesome product, even better price

I use this product mainly for long exposure photography but I use it for the occasional panorama as well. For the budget minded photographer (no matter who you are) this is a great tripod head.

Works great

Works with up to my DSLR with 70-200 L.Only thing I don't like it's quick release button pushes in with thimble screwed out as well. Would have preferred a quick release lever action.

Very Pleased

This tripod head is an excellent choice for a photo enthusiast. I called Adorama customer support and they were able to assist me in what I specifally needed for my Nikon D90 and my Nikkor 18-200mm lens. The FPTPF1128 tripod, the FPTH2 tripod head and bag(both the tripod and head fit in the bag) are exactly what I needed and could not be more pleased with the quality [...]

Photographers Delight

This will hold the equipment I need on the tripod with some weight to spare. Quick-release will work well when I don't need the use of the tripod.
