Difficult to attach firmly quickly. The knob to tighten is recessed too much to get a good grip and if swiching from lens shoe (long lens) to camera base, it take too much time. Should have gotten one with a quick release.

My camera kept falling to the side with my other ball head. I have used this a few times because, I have not had it for a long time. I love the way that it work. Since it is made especially for a monopod that is good. For me, attaching my camera to it was easy. The first time that I used it was for a sunset shot, it worked great. My camera stayed in place. It cost a lot less than the ball head that I had on it. With me, it is not the price, but the workmanship that really matters. I love it.

from what i can figure this only mounts to a Manfroto with a dual 1/4-20" - 3/8" camera screw

The best thing you can attach to a monopod.

Already had one, bought two, which should say how well they work. I have sliders, dollies, tripods, and a monopod and it works on all of them.

Will not support the weight of my D7000 with a Tamron 70-300 VC..It is not possible to lock down the pivot knob tight enough so that the lens will become nose-heavy and begin to aim at the ground.13+ lbs are stated in the ad copy..I don't see how that's possible..It was graciously returned for a credit.

I got this ball head with the small flashpoint tripod. It definitely adds weight to the light tripod and you cannot keep it mounted on either the camera or the tripod because they won't be able to fit into their bags (I suppose it depends on how big your camera bag is). I wish there were another ball head piece for my small tripod.

This head goes nicely with a small tripod. Simple to use making it quick to attach a camera or flash.
