I use it for my Nikon D7000 both indoors and outdoors when I have need for a tripod. Its lightweight and easy to carry. Its also stable and does what I need a tripod to do.

Great tripod to travel. I wanted a light weight tripod to be able to carry around. This fits perfectly. I can adjust it quickly. It's sturdy. Just what I wanted.

I have had this tripod for about 8 months and it is falling apart. The issue is the cheap plastic collars inside the adjustment knobs are breaking and when the legs are slide outward they completely slid out of the larger leg they are inside of. Two of this have broken and I am dumping this product.

This is a very stable platform for video and DSLR use. My equipment is a Nikon D90 with a Tamron 18-270 Zoom and a Canon HV20 video cam. It's reasonably light and folds out quickly.

having owned numerous good and bad 'pods over the last 40 years, i can say this would be a "best-buy" if designed correctly.each leg angle is adjustable and is suppose to lock in place using sliding stops (like a gitzo). two of the three just barely made contact so that on both occasions i've used it, a lock slipped and the tripod started to fall over. i was lucky and caught it each time.[...] its a basic design problem, not just something wrong with my unit. so i modified it myself. two hours of taking it apart and grinding on each lock, i now have a fantastic small/light/inexpensive 'pod i truly enjoy. that is why i gave it any stars at all.if you're good with hand tools, this might be a fine deal for you, but let the buyer beware.

I wanted a sturdy tripod that was not very heavy. This one fits the bill--at only 2.7 lbs without the head. I put a Manfrotto ball head on it (and am changing my other tripods to Manfrotto quick release adapters). Good combination for me. I have only had it for a week, but I truly am happy I bought it.

This tripod is light enough to hike with, but sturdy and stable, because there are only 3 leg sections, so the smallest section is still pretty stiff. The independence of the legs, with adjustable angles, makes it very flexible in uneven terrain, and the reversible center column allows you to place the camera at ground level (albeit upside-down). This makes it great for macro work in the wild, my passion. Also, the built-in bubble level helps with panorama stitch jobs.

• Adorama has studied for many years the needs and wants of the beginner, advanced and professional photographer. All the equipment that bears the Flashpoint name meets these essential qualifications, equipment that is dependable at a fair price. The Flashpoint Carbon Fiber Tripods are yet another fine example that follows in the Flashpoint tradition; high quality tripods that can go the distance. Made to Adorama's specifications, you'll feel the quality the first time you set it up. Leg locks that work! They open and close with ease. Pride of ownership is only a small reason to have one of these fine tripods in your equipment bag.
• Featuring classic European Styling, these Flashpoint tripods have all the features of other carbon fiber tripods, except the high price. Besides its legendary light weight, carbon fiber does not transfer heat like aluminum, but does absorb vibrations. This feature helps to insure sharper images.
• All Flashpoint tripod legs have rubber double-grip twist locks. The center column can be separated into a low column for ground level use. The supplied wrench can adjust the leg friction to match the photographers needs. Leg tips can be set with either a rubber pad or ground spike for rugged terrain.
