I have it all set up, took a few tries to get it level and straight but I had the tools for it.  It's pretty basic, but there were no instructions at all.  ?? You have to pretty much use your brain. The hard part for me was opening up the clamps to get them attached to the pole to hold the bar for the background. It wasn't cooperating at first. lol   Anyway, it wasn't all that hard but it was a little annoying.  It's well made and sturdy. It's been up and ready to go for a few days now and nothing fell on the floor so I guess it works! I chose this over the other stands because they have legs and take up space. I wanted something close to the wall and not mounted on the wall.  I have too many holes to repair already.  This is great if you're renting you don't want to damage or put holes in the wall. I recommend it if you don't own the property this is a good choice. It saves space, it's sturdy enough. Good for a studio setting but not for on the go.
