This product compares very favorably with the various Pelican cases, only you get a larger size for the same or less money. Problem is the clasps on both products; would prefer a "low-jolt" metal locking clasp. If you have a delicate piece of equipment, such as the HD in the Panasonic HS-700k, then you do not want to introduce any extraneous shocks into the system, even with all that padding.

Very solid, and a good size

I wanted something really safe to use for storing my Leica M and several lenses. This case is the perfect size, very strong, and very well padded. My two gripes are: (a) the clasps should be designed differently, and (b) there are no instructions to explain what to do with the valve in the side of the case. With respect to the clasps, they are very rigid, molded plastic that have to flex a bit to close, but they really don't flex. So it is extraordinarily hard to close the clasps, and I worry about eventually breaking them when I try to force them. If the clasps were redesigned (perhaps to be like old-fashioned steamer-trunk clasps, it would be the perfect case for secure storage of a moderately sized set of valuable equipment.
