matte box hood
I us it has a hood shade to protect the lens from reflections or sunlight the big hole serves as to protect and allow me to receive the shade I need without having to worry about the fisheye effect and/or vignette effect

What were we thinking?
We are a pro studio and we are not the most gentle with our equipment. We installed the hood and within five minutes while rolling the camera down the hallway to the next studio room we clipped a door frame and that was the end of one panel so off came the assembly. Maybe good for an amateur but not for pro users.

Good to go!!!
the Matte box will be used as a sunshade for my camera during outside use.
It shades from the sun, protects the camera lens to an extent if it falls, and provides a great pro look to the dslr.
it is a bit flimsy as it is made of plastic, but that's okay because it has an excellently low price point.
