the thing you don't think you need until you need it.
buy one and throw it in your bag for just in case. bought this to add a "quick release" onto a light that has a 1/4 20 female. I had to add blue thread locker onto the threads because the nut didn't seem to lock the light to the threads well enough. a serrated nut may work better to help lock it in.
