The ALTA 8 UAV comes fully assembled and includes all the necessary tools and accessories you will need to mount a MoVI and get it flying. The standard ALTA drone ships with a Quick Release Top Handle, Inverted Landing Gear, FPV mount plate, cables to connect your personal receivers and/or FPV system, and mechanical tools to disassemble & inspect your UAV. Freefly ALTA App available for download.

Not Included: The standard ALTA 8 drone configuration does not include a MoVI, batteries, a transmitter, receivers, the Aero Landing Gear (lower landing gear for flying a MoVI in the bottom mount configuration, pictured), or an FPV system.

Testing
Each and every ALTA endures a barrage of component and system level tests designed to weed out items that do not meet our strict quality control levels. After passing this gauntlet of tests, each ALTA is test flown by a Freefly test pilot to ensure each ALTA flies as well as our personal machines.

Automatic Data Logging
ALTA 8 makes it easy to monitor and analyze the performance and 'health' of your machine using our proprietary high speed data logging via micro SD card. This flight log gives pilots access to a wide range of helpful data. Additionally Freefly publishes the flight data viewer application that our Engineering team uses to analyze flight data to help give customers actionable insight to their machine.

Quick Release
We hear from customers each and every day that our Toad in the Hole quick release system has dramatically improved their speed and flexibility on set. We decided early that the ALTA would utilize the TITH quick release on both the top and bottom of the drone, allowing unparalleled speed, flexibility, and creativity.

Vibration Isolation
Freefly pioneered the adjustable o-ring isolation design on the CineStar, and we've improved it further for the ALTA by upgrading the design to be tool less and quick release.

Weather Resistant
The ALTA features a lightweight molded plastic enclosure to cover the flight control and power distribution board to protect them from the elements.

Receiver Mounting Bay
The ALTA 8 provides two fully enclosed receiver mounting bays to keep these sensitive components protected and dry.

Precise Positioning
By using the latest in GPS technology and fusing that data with our IMU and Barometer, the ALTA is able to hold position even in difficult weather conditions. For our industrial users this gives the ability to execute complex flight paths while keeping pilot fatigue low.

Velocity Clamps
The SYNAPSE features velocity control with an adjustable real time speed limit. This means pilots can alter the vertical and ground velocities to ensure precise and repeatable camera moves.

Height Hold
The SYNAPSE flight controller takes readings from accelerometers, barometer, and GPS and fuses them together to create high-bandwidth height control flight mode.

ALTA moves like no other drone
Freefly has been leading the industry in camera movement for over a decade. We learned early that a key ingredient to unforgettable shots is the ability to move the camera dynamically.

All the Right Angles
The ALTA allows the pilot to command up to a 45 degree angle. This allows smooth, precise, and dynamic control of camera movement.

Built to Perform
Custom designed motors and motor drives strike a perfect balance between performance and efficiency and set the standard for heavy lift multi rotors. The ALTA airframe weighs only 13lbs, but carries a 20lb payload.

Silent Drive
The ALTA utilizes sinusoidal drive motor controls with proprietary control algorithms developed by the Freefly engineering team. The motor drives are custom tuned to match the F45 and are optimized for speed, reliability, and robustness. The motor drives are constantly monitoring a variety of parameters and reporting status to the SYNAPSE.

Complete Control
The ALTA silent drive motor controls have incredible closed loop control of the propellers.
