My favourite Fjallraven all around, all year backpack for day trips. It is durable, low profile and fits my back very well. Better than Kaipak 38 (which I own as well) I would only change three things. Zippered front pocket could be made similar to Keb 52. With it is own space. Now when you put some gear inside the pocket it takes a bit space form the inside of the backpack. I guess it would be Kapiak 30 or so then. Loops for trekking poles could be a bit bigger so I could use them for ice axes as well. Now I attache a paracord to trekking pole lops (to make them a bit bigger) and use them with ice axes as well. Bigger top lid inside pocket. I like fixed brain, simple hip strap and clean minimalistic look.

I really like this backpack. It is hard wearing and comfortable to wear Spacious top lid pocket and big and useful front zippered pocket. So why 4 stars.... Hip belt pockets are way to small ( could be bigger or stretchy). But the biggest design error in my opinion is how they attached top lid to the backpack. When the backpack is not fully loaded there is a gap between the top lid and the back of the backpack. Not practical or nice looking. Water or dirt can get into the backpack. Shame I am unable to attache the photos but look it up on the internet some users mentioned it as well. This backpack would be great If Fjallraven would address these two "errors" and use a new Bergsell fabric.

Got my Kajka about a month ago. Really easy to pack and unload the main compartment. Comes with a raincover (as should any oack in this elevated price range!). Great hip belt and that coupled with its easy adjustments make this incredibly comfortable and versatile for any body shape. The side pockets are a feature that Apple-like in their design and simplicity. I paid £210 for mine and I consider this good value. Similarly a Keb Endurance 3 tent cost me £420 and is well nigh faultless, imho.

I really like my Kaipak 28 as a daily user. I love that it is a top-loading pack, and the buckles are a great feature as well. I prefer this over a backpack that I have to zip up, because if I want to really stuff it full then it's a lot easier to close with a drawstring. It fits comfortably (I am a 5'3" 110 lb woman) but I wouldn't want anything larger for a day pack. It's also big enough that I could use it as an overnighter if needed. My only complaint is the lack of colour choices. The navy blue is a beautiful, dusty blue (lighter in person than in the photos) but I would have loved an olive or forest green colour like some of the other styles.

I wanted to love this pack. The material, simple design and construction are great. There are smart details for ice tools or hiking poles. I can make it work with a bladder. It doesn't look like I'm trying to conquer Everest or set any speed records, and that's wonderful. The color options are wonderfully subtle. It's tough as nails. But, the fit is bizarre. I'm 5'9" and weigh about 140lbs, with a 31" actual waist. So, I'm thin and pretty fit. The waist belt on this cinches all the way down, and is barely tight enough for my 31" waist. Yet, the sternum strap is nearly maxed out on my 46" chest. And, the minimum torso length for this pack would have to be approximately 21". My torso is about 19", and this pack will rub a hole in the top of my coccyx bone area because it's so long, and the shoulder straps are not adjustable. It's as if the designer built it for someone who is tall, with average to obese waist, and the tiniest chest and shoulders ever seen on a human. If you're 5'10" or taller, aren't particularly fit, and have strangely narrow shoulders, it could be a great pack for you.
