An advanced solution for precise aerial mapping and surveying, the Freefly RTK GPS Ground Station is a high-tech, durable, and portable device that offers centimeter-level accuracy for your Alta X or Astro drone. Utilizing Real Time Kinematic (RTK) technology, this compact ground station module enhances your drone's location accuracy both vertically and horizontally in real-time.The RTK GPS Ground Station works by integrating a pair of modules to amplify positional accuracy. One module, known as the "Rover," is installed on the aircraft, while the "Ground Station" module is mounted on a tripod and connected to your ground station computer. This setup allows your ground station computer to transmit GPS corrections to the Rover module on the aircraft, refining precision from a few meters to just a few centimeters.This kit includes one module, magnetic mounting hardware compatible with common tripods (1/4" 20), and a USB cable. For full RTK capability with an Alta X equipped with F9P GPS (not Here2), you'll need an additional RTK GPS Ground Station for your ground station computer, a radio for communication between the ground station computer and the Alta (such as FRX Pro), and a sturdy tripod or similar mount for your Ground Station module.If you're operating an Alta X with Here2 GPS and want full RTK capability, you'll require two RTK GPS Ground Stations (one for the Rover and one for the ground station computer), a radio for communication, and a sturdy mount for your Ground Station module. For enhanced GPS performance with an Alta X with Here2 GPS, a single RTK GPS Ground Station for your Alta X will suffice.For full RTK capability with an Astro Base Kit, you'll need one RTK GPS Ground Station for your ground station computer and a sturdy mount for your Ground Station module.Please note, if your computer (such as a MacBook Pro) does not have USB A ports, you will need a USB A-C adapter or your own USB C-C cable.
