Fuchs ODS Classic 50W Head Amplifier

A powerful and high-quality addition to any musician's gear, the ODS Classic 50W Head Amplifier is the epitome of the evolution of the original Overdrive Supreme platform. This versatile and reliable amplifier is the result of nearly two decades of customer feedback and the relentless pursuit of perfect tone by its creator, Andy Fuchs.

The ODS Classic is a favorite among musicians of all genres, including renowned artists like Al Di Meola, Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring of Widespread Panic, Coy Bowles of Zac Brown, and Jake Cinninger of Umphreys McGee. This amplifier is available in both head and combo formats, with a 2 x 6L6 50-Watt and 4 x 6L6 100-Watt version, each equipped with a half power switch.

Designed with a fan-cooled aluminum 17" chassis, the ODS Classic is compact and manageable, making it an ideal choice for musicians on the go. The amplifier boasts dual gain boosts, offering two distinctive voices that can be combined to more than double the available gain range.

The ODS Classic features a three-position EQ switch, providing a range of tonal options from a punchy rock style EQ to a smoother, more jazzy studio style EQ. The clean channel topology is a refined version of the single 12AX7 circuit found in the original ODS, while the overdrive channel retains the same drive channel that contributed to the original amp's success.

The ODS Classic also incorporates an internal overdrive gain control and HFOD controls, offering a subtle high-end smoothing effect going into the overdrive. The amplifier is equipped with a master volume and accent control, adding a subtle high-end boost in the power amp stage.

The ODS Classic features the same great Spin Semiconductor digital reverb as designed by Keith Barr of Alesis fame. This reverb offers variable decay and level controls, and is interfaced via a tube mix stage, providing warmth and smoothness.

The rear panel of the ODS Classic remains virtually unchanged from the original amp design, featuring a universal AC power input plug, power and standby switches, 4-8-16-ohm outputs for speakers, and a half power switch. The amplifier also includes a CAT-5 Ethernet connector for the footswitch, which provides dual gain boosts, overdrive and mid boost, and reverb muting with LED indications.

The ODS Classic is built with custom wound USA made transformers from Heyboer and Classic-Tone, and combines modern high-grade PC board construction with classic hand wiring for reliable and consistent performance. This amplifier is a testament to Fuchs' commitment to quality, durability, and the pursuit of the perfect tone.
