The binder itself is great. Comes with no instructions, but perhaps not needed (except you wonder why there is a washer inside when unpacking, which needs to be discarded). But...please don't waste your expensive ink on the dual side paper provided. My photos turned out much better on a Epson paper product. Buying the additional books is kind of expensive, from what I see. Also given the high cost of color inks - I wonder if it is economical to make photobooks at home?

This product is AWESOME! It's simple, yet innovative in that it brings report making (and scrapbooking) to a whole new level of professionalism without the cost or hassle. I never thought I'd be able to create books like this on my own - absolutely incredible. Not only is the finished product great, the process is really cool too. Basically, you put together all the pages of your report, book or photo album, stick them in the spine of the book, close it and then set it on the machine to work it's magic. Seriously - that's it! There's no on / off switch or warm-up time. You just set the book in the machine and it turns on automatically and in three minutes, you've made your own hardbound book. The part of the machine that touches the spine heats up, melting a resin already placed in the spine. The resin really grabs all the pages - and I'm telling you - I was really tugging on them and they weren't budging. I think I would have torn the pages before they actually came out of the spine. My wife has even used the 4 x 6 size to make her own mini-cookbooks at home with index cards. It's just versitile like that. This is a really, really cool tool! This would definitely be a great scrapbooking gift idea for the serious scrapbooker - and professionally, anyone who is looking for a professional report and presentation tool at a corporate level or home office would be crazy to pass up the Photobook Creator. It's versitile, innovative and just plain cool! On a side note - buy extra books when you order the machine. I didn't do that at first (just wanting to test the first book), and I ended up feeling like a kid who gets a new toy on Christmas morning who doesn't have any batteries. They have a variety of sizes and colors (8.5 x 11, 4 x 6, 8 x 8 and 12 x 12). Stock up! I've already blown through my re-order because I keep finding new uses for it (and my wife does too).

This binding machine and book covers are of high quality and easy-to-use. You can use them at home or at work to produce very professional-looking personalized photo books, yearbooks, scrapbooks, wedding keepsakes, or even cookbooks to give as gifts, or to sell. My first book was a photo album with lots of prints from our extended family’s Thanksgiving celebration. Everyone loved it! Here’s the best part – the pages in the books can come from anywhere! My second book was a set of ten drawings (not printouts) on art paper of imaginary creatures by my six-year-old granddaughter! I'd like to see the page layout software be improved so manual operations run faster and smarter. Bottom Line Overall this is an excellent book-making system that makes it easy and fun, for adults and children alike, to create hardcover books.

Digital scrapbooking and photo books are very popular now, but this makes it so much more fun with instant results. Personalized photo books make great gifts and are truly appreciated by anyone, especially with personal touches. The covers can be embellished in many ways too. I do not, as a rule, write product reviews. However, this is a unique case. The box had been crushed slightly and there were a couple of screws loose on the base of the unit. I wrote an email at unibind.com to complain, although I didn't expect to hear back. I received a phone call from Unibind today. There was genuine concern about the condition my product arrived in and the promise to do whatever is necessary to make me happy. I was very impressed and look forward to trying out the product. I believe you can be assured that this company will stand behind their product, and that to me is very important.

I'm big into digital photography, and this product has made it easy for me to create my own portfolios from the convenience of home. The results are high-quality. Once my prints are bound, they aren't coming out of the book. I also love the sleek look of the hardcover books used with the PhotoBook Creator, especially the window carved into the front cover. This product is lightweight, so it doesn't take up too much space at my home, and it's just a lot of fun to use.

Very easy to use. Load the photos to the binder, put on the machine, wait for a couple of minutes, and voila, the book is done. Tried to pull pages from the book - could'nt do it.

I bought the product to create a photo book of my shots to give to friends & family as gifts. The pages placed in the covers hold remarkably well. The kit comes only with a few binders for 8 1/2x11. One can order on line a varied assortment of colored & textured covers, plus various sizes & thicknesses can also be found... and yes, they are easy to put together!
