I wanted a desktop speaker for casual workday listening that is not so big that it would dominate my space but has enough bass extension for most music. I can't tolerate headphones as much as I used to due to tinnitus, and I bought these hoping the measured performance would be consistent with the smaller PM.03, reviewed by AudioScienceReview. After a couple weeks, I am reasonably pleased. They sound decent to me, though I am sure they aren't ruler flat--a little boomy in the mids (ie, bass guitar) and a little bright as seems to be all too typical in this price range. I listen at low volumes due to tinnitus and the coloration is appreciated, but when turned up, the bloat on some material is way too much for me. And I have them 9 inches above the desktop. For the price, they seem like a good value. Finish is not high end, but they blend in well, and I appreciate the unobtrusive styling. They are sized just right for the Kanto SP9 stands. The only feature I would like that these speakers lack is a high frequency trim on the back.
