I use shredder oil to facilitate the smooth movement of the shredder. It will jam frequently (am careful about how much paper I place in it). It has not worked for 3 months because of the last jam. It will go in reverse but not forward.

Purchased this in Jan 2020 from Ace Hardware. Love it. It has done a lot of paper to date with no jams.

Seems like a pretty good unit. No problems so far. Best price ever (albeit on sale)

The shredder is pretty quite as compared to other shredders purchased in the past. It's not only fairly quite, but shredding is smooth too and I haven't had any problems shredding cards. So overall this was a great purchase and I would recommend it.

The cross-cutting feature on this shredder is much better than the straight cut of the one I had before. It is able to handle several pages at once without getting jammed up. All in all, a solid shredder!

It's always good to shred anything with your account numbers etc and even moreso with a cross cut. This model is a good compromise between cost and functionality. Would be nice however if it could shred CD/DVDs.

The shredder was impressive the way it cut up the paper so small and it made the job of doing all that shredding(which I normally dread doing) easy and quick. The proof of that was, when I was all done with "my" shredding, I asked my wife if she had anything she wanted me to shredded for her.

I just recently bought this shredder to replace two old shredders that bit the dust while shredding my mother-in-law's entire lifetime paperwork while moving her from her house. This shredder does have a very important feature for me which is a guard that shields little fingers from getting into the cutters. It can easily handle 7 sheets at a time and does shred staples and credit cards It does not handle paper clips or cds but I didn't expect it to.. The price was a moderate price for a machine that can handle moderate jobs which is what I needed. Another good feature is that the paper shreds are not so tiny that they make a huge mess when emptying the bin but are shredded very securely. I love how easy it is to empty the bin and that the window allows you to easily see when it needs to be emptied so it doesn't get stuffed full. The main thing that is a problem is the noise. It is excessively loud which surprised me. It also surprised me ( like a previous reviewer) that it should be oiled with vegetable oil every time the bin is emptied. That seems excessive to me and I agree that the bottle to oil it with should be included in the box. I don't know when I'll remember to go looking for a bottle at the store to do that. Wouldn't WD40 work as well?

I just purchased and initiated use with my new Fellowes P-7C Cross Cut Shredder. Although I have not had a lot of time to glean all the ins and outs of using this appliance, I am very satisfied with the tests I have put it through this afternoon. I am mostly impressed with the cross-cut result - very nice small fragments of the original documents - clean and uniform as well. The machine had no problem taking up to 7 sheets of paper at a time as well as a few sheets that also included staples and it was evident when it was in operation as a safety feature.

I needed a small but sturdy shredder that would hold up to three years worth of cleaning out my files at home and it is holding up really well! It does time out occasionally, but only for a few minutes and I would rather it do that than overheat and break down! Seems very sturdy and cuts right through paper very well, shredding everything to a good size. Exactly what I was looking for!

It would have have been helpful, if an important part of the product upkeep such as the oil came with shredder. Furthermore, this information could have been placed somewhere on the box in addition to the manual. Also, if it is reccomended to oil the shredder blades everything time the bin is emptied, for peak performance, then the oil or container should be in the box.

We owned a Fellowes Shredder before we bought this one and we had for about ten years and it would probably would still be working if my husband had not dropped it. It is a wonderful shredder and we love the Fellowes products. I would recommend any Fellowes products to everyone. Love it.

We needed a new shredder, so I went with another Fellowes cross-cut action shredder capable of shredding 7 sheets at a time. I like this model, a Powershred P-7C Cross-Cut Shredder, even better than our previous model (which was 8-10 years old and used several times each day) because this P-7C is easier to handle than our previous one. Our new one is also lighter-weight, and the shredder unit and basket are smaller than the old one and fit into our office area even better than the old one did. P-7C shreds faster than our old one. Thanks, Fellowes, for another great and affordable product!

Even though I only feed one page at a time the paper wrapped around the cutting blades and shortly jammed the machine. When you run in reverse to clear the jam the bits of paper fly over the area. You have to trick the machine by touching the paper sensor to make it run forward and truly clear the jam.

I thought this was an attractive unit that had the features I needed and decided to buy it at Target. Unfortunately, when I unpacked it I discovered that Fellowes decided to deface it right at the factory with an ugly, permanent sticker right on the top front of it. Thinking they would have used removable adhesive, I tried to remove it only to make it worse. After spending far too long trying to get it off, we have had to give up. (Our fingers could not take any more abuse, let alone our patience.) Now my brand new shredder looks like an old, used model because of an ugly, half-removed sticker. I know this is such a little thing but it is so thoughtless and annoying to put such a sticker on with permanent adhesive. It makes me seriously doubt the judgment of the folks who designed and built this product. Ironically, the sticker is meant to reduce returns by suggesting to call Fellowes first if there is a problem - but now I'm seriously considering returning this and never buying a Fellowes product.

Compact Design is what sold me. It also features a cool down, just in case you over work your shredder. Also bought because of the Fellows Brand Name. Read reviews on other products.

I had been considering getting a shredder for a few days because I was worried about identity theft. I wanted a shredder that was durable, electric, and nice looking. I was at BJs Wholesale Club on May 7th, 2012. I went right to the shredders. There were other shredders, but this one stood out the most. It was stylish, electric, able to shred CD's and Credit Cards, and the quality was very good for the price. I got home and set up the shredder right away. Very easy setup. I tried out the shredder and I love it!!! If the paper starts going in crooked, it doesn't matter....it will pull it in and shred it. It shreds very thin, and its fairly fast. My wife and teenage children love it too!!! I like that it has 3 different switch settings also!!! I recommend this to anyone that wants a shredder for their home and or business!!!

I purchased a Fellowes shredder because I have had other brands over the years and heard that Fellowes shredders were excellent quality and lasted for many years. I purchased the medium use model because I initially had a lot of shredding to do and that hoped to keep up with it on a regular basis. Imagine my surprise when just after a short period of use it overheated and I needed to wait 20 minutes in between each incident of overheating. Very frustrating! Would definitely call this an extremely light use model. Wouldn't recommend it or have bought it had I known it would stop working so frequently!

This is an impressive shredder. It provides the necessary functions for home use. It shreds plastic cards with ease and is great when shredding paper.

This shredder is excellent if you only have several sheets of paper to shred. Otherwise it is not very good It constantly overheats and shuts down after several minutes of use.

I've needed to replace my last practically useless shredder for quite some time and decided to go with the Fellowes P-7C (7 page, cross cut) when I finally got around to it. Needless to say, I had stacks upon stacks of 'ugh-I-really-need-to-shred-that' paperwork that I'd been shuffling around for much longer than I'm willing to admit. I am so pleased with my choice in shredders! It is a very solidly built, deceptively sturdy yet sleek design. The functionality is extremely simple and the safty features make it virtually impossible to harm oneself. Despite the massive task of shredding a LOT of paper in a short time, I had no problems with the unit overheating...granted I'm not talking about hour after hour of constant 'Emron Party' type use, but I did push it! It's so compact and handy it barely takes up space, a nice addition to any decor. The absolute best part is knowing that I can safely discard my personal/private information at anytime. That gives me peace of mind that is well worth the cost of this high quality product and then some. Nice warranty, well known manufacturer...A+
