Chief James Bushey

Chief James Bushey

James Bushey, the Director of Technical Specialists at Adorama, has an extensive history in law enforcement. He served as a police officer in the Town of Linn Police Department, Wisconsin since 2006, and served as the Chief of Police from 2016 to 2021. He is certified in Special Weapons And Tactics, various levels of FEMA public safety certifications, a State of Wisconsin LESB certified academy instructor, ALERRT Level 1&2 Terrorism Response, AUVSI accredits TOPS Level Pilot, ITC certified Thermographer and has logged hundreds of flight hours across his work in public safety, as a private contract commercial real estate imaging photographer, and waterway/land conservation work contractor.

Chad Collier currently serves as the Chief UAS Pilot at Adorama. Collier boasts a 10+ year career in Law Enforcement in State of Michigan and 1,000+ hours UAS commercial operations. Collier is a Mid-Atlantic Aviation Program Certified Pilot, Natural Disaster Response UAS Pilot, 1 of 25 nationally designated specialists for confined space drone operations, and was 1 of 6 pilots in a case study for nationwide waivers including flight over people and BVLOS. Collier is also a certified instructor for BRINC Drones.

Scott Mlakar

Scott Mlakar

Assistant Chief of the Willoughby (OH) Fire Department for 37 years as a paramedic, hazmat technician, technical rescue coordinator, and fire investigator.

Scott developed and oversees operations of the Lake County Public Safety Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) team, composed of fire and police officers. He serves as an instruction at Tri-C Community College as part of their Public Safety Program. He has presented at various national UAS conferences and has published articles in Fire Engineering Magazine.

Luis is a detective and Chief UAS pilot with the Elizabeth Police Department. Luis's department was one of the first in the state to receive a COA approval from the FAA in class B airspace. He has assisted numerous departments throughout the state of New Jersey in beginning their UAS programs.

"Being on the forefront of building a sUAS program for such a large department was no easy task. My colleagues and I learned a lot in the process. Constantly looking at the latest equipment and the endless hours of researching sUAS allowed me to accept a position as a sUAS instructor for New York State Preparedness Training Center. In our classes, we work with Public Safety sUAS operators from all over the country.
