Great light modifier
I bought one of these after watching Gary's videos, and it does exactly what he says it does. It gives the most beautiful soft lighting that you have ever seen from an on camera flash. Looks like a large softbox lit your photo.
Works as advertised by Gary Fong
I have used bounce flash and Lumiquest pocket bounce in the past. The Lightsphere gives better results at reasonable distances than anything I've tried on a shoe mount flash. Expensive though!
All other diffusers "point" the light forward like a flashlight. Gary Fong's Lightsphere is the only diffuser that lights up the entire room, softening your images tremendously.
The Lightsphere-2 CLEAR with Inverted Dome is a a flexible, totally CLEAR VINYL diffuser with internal snap on dome... The only one like it anywhere! The Amberdome Lid for the Lightsphere II Cloud instantly warms up your images in cool Situations (for Cloud only - will not fit previous models of Lightsphere). There were many users who requested a warming filter for the light. So Gary Fong made it after extensive testing, and it does a great job of warming your light in the following situations:
• Outdoors at dusk or early morning
• Outdoors in Open Shade (set camera to auto-white balance)
• Interiors with tungsten lighting (set camera WB to "tungsten" setting)
• Shooting sunsets with the sun at your subject's back.
With the Chromedome you will have up to double the power and efficiency, but the look will be identical. The ChromeDome was made for the Lightsphere Cloud Model only - it does not work effectively with the clear model. There is an open top to allow clear light to hit the ceiling. A chrome-plated kicker panel blows light forward, while the inverted bowl blasts more light intothe bowl, brightening the bowl.
