I got this for the purpose to take quick on location shots without needing to bring along extra lighting and equipment. It works as "advertised" and I am sure many users love the system. I just found it a bit bulky and awkward to install as well as having this dome on the flash when working with a subject and there are so many pieces to pop on and take off that I felt it was not quick for field work. I tried to convince myself if was great, but I resorted to returning the whole thing. I changed to the R O U G U E light bender which is a lot easier to carry, install and be creative with.

I use it indoors with low ceilings. I don't get the shadows like I do with bounce flash. Cheaper than off camera soft box setup. The snoot is fun too. I'm glad to have it when I don't have good lighting indoors.

I like the portability and ease of use. The honeycomb lighting is perfect for my style of photography. Yes, you can make something similar out of takeout containers, but I rather spend my time shooting than trial and error crafting for my flash.

I have always had trouble using a flash in low light giving harsh highlights and very seldom use it during the day. With this system I carried it to a trip to OpryMills and was suprised at how it did well in the areas of almost pitch black where a typical flash would have provided harsh lighting. I have my first wedding shoot coming up in a week and this will in my bag and on my flash probably 90% of the time. I would give it 5 stars, but the power snoot I think could have been made a little less bulky and perhaps collapsible.

I watched the YouTube vids and was pretty impressed so I wanted to try it out for myself. It's super easy to use, and most of all it works. My pictures have become that much better with a few simple steps. I wouldn't be carrying it around in my travel camera bag, but if I knew I wanted to take nice portraits it would definitely be in there! Overall, it's a great product!

This package includes all the Gary Fong flash accessories for a price MUCH less than buying them piece by piece. You definitely want the collapsible light sphere, both for packing purposes and because the colored gels only work with the collapsible model. The snoot does not collapse, and so can be a chore to find room for in your pack, but it's quite specialized and doesn't need to go everywhere with you. It's also a bit flimsy: the velcro strap on mine broke the first time I tried to mount it, but the Gary Fong folks cheerfully and immediately sent me a replacement strap. Gary is not big on written instructions: there aren't any, just a couple of cards that do make sense once you puzzle out the pictures. To learn to use the things, go to the Gary Fong website and watch many video clips that cover all the features and uses, along with many other excellent lighting tips and techniques. Particularly for portraits and fill flash, this is by far the best and most versatile diffuser set there is.

I was impressed by how well the collapsible lght sphere has worked for me. It does everything that it was supposed to. It is lightweight, but seems strong enough to hold up to the uses that I will need it for. It is easy to install, which was a pleasant suprise.
