I would highly recommend this product. In former reviews with low stars, have noticed frustration with product. I feel there is a learning curve both practical/ hands on and educational. Take time to watch videos along with recommended settings provided. Be patient with the learning process. Know ur Gear!!

Brought Gary Fong's Fashion Kit from Adorama. I was visiting family. I brought along my camera & litghtsphere kit . I used the collapsible lightsphere . Everyone was saying the llght was soft. (No Deer in the Headlights Look Here) It lit up the room evenly; the photos came out well exposed! I used the grey dome for the correct custom white balance. The grey dome is oval shaped. ( like people's faces) The light hits at different angles so you get a correct reading for white balance. Better than flat get cards. Used the blue gel to get a "wacky" custom white balance, Then put my blue gel on the flash, (off camera) and the world turned red expect the person in the picture. Putting on the collapsible lightsphere on flash was easy. I like the strap to tighten lightsphere to flash. I highly recommend purchasing any Gary Fong's Products.

A friend recommended this to me. My only disappointment is that I ordered it to late to get it in time for a big shoot I was going to do (my fault). I am still learning a lot about it, but thanks to the excellent DVD and online videos I am sure that in will increase my productivity outside the studio. This is the first modifier for speedlights that has impressed me. If you use speedlights, I haven't the language to recommend this product enough. Well made and easy to use to start but also easy to learn much more advanced techniques. I am used to using studio flashes and just now expanding to indoor location shooting. I consider this a must have item for anyone serious about using speedlights. No more deer in the headlights look on my subjects.

The product is a great innovation by Gary Fong. It really provide soft light to the subject and give the image more expression. It is easy to used, and have a very intuitive pamplet for the manual. It give the photographer a tool to experiment, but still provide geat image. The Constant light that it provide all overt the side really stand my image with great vivid colors. I highly recommend it to all type of Photographer from begineer to proffessional. This a great product.

It really works as it is advertised. I can direct my flash output. I can soften the light from my flash and I can create great dramatic effects in my photography without spending a fortune on additional lighting equipment.

I am usually skeptical about purchasing items online without trying it out myself, but I took a chance on this kit due to Gary's very clear explanation in his videos. This is an excellent kit and I not only love the functionality of the items, but I also enjoy the easy breakdown and storage. Great quality construction, produces great images when used correctly, and easy breakdown and storage, The results from using these Gary Fong domes are excellent!! I highly recommend them... Quality is better than expected. Not cheap by any means. Fit the Yongnuo speed light YN685 very well and does it's job as it's suppose to. It should last for a long time. The rubber collapsible bodies are nicely made and fitment of the white, gray end caps fit nice. The grill fits nice as well. This is a solid purchase and really since using it, I have put it in the gear bag as an important tool. I'm a stickler on quality. I just wish the Gary Fong logo was not printed on the bag. I inked it out. After all, I'm not getting anything free from GF to use his stuff.

The Gary Fong Kit has saved me time and money by not having to carry an umbrella or a box when shooting on site vs my studio. In low ceilings and small rooms the light bounces so well I can take portraits with only a backdrop. The quality is very close to a studio setup in some instances.

I wanted to add some extra professionalism to my shots with creative lighting. This kit had everything I wanted and allows me to do some really cool things with it using the gels and snoot. I'll probably buy a second snoot for my other speed light to really get crazy. This saves so much time in post processing, and gives you a big studio feel anywhere.

This is almost a complete set of light modifiers, which make most of my others obsolete for the road. I use it on wedding, events, outdoors portraits. The only thing better is your indoor studio. The kit is a little bit bigger than I thought, but still manageable in my large backpack. I bought it on the recommendation of my semi-pro friend and loved it.

I've used a flashbender in the past with my Speedlight to soften the light of the flash and was pretty satisfied with the results (wasn't crazy about the square catch-light in the eyes). However the Lightsphere not only has a natural looking catchlight, bur really creates a very natural looking effect. I haven't had a chance to play around with the gels or the grid just yet, but have used the Lightsphere at a wedding and for three family shoots. Love that it collapses and fits in the little case (which has a strap that can hook onto the outside of a travel bag. Since I wasn't using all of the pieces, I used the bag to hold my Pocket Wizards. The bag is thin, but wrapping the other things in a thick cloth was enough protection. I tried using the gray dome to set the white balance. It worked OK, but I'm not sure I did that exactly right (I'll have to take a look a the video again!). . which by the way the videos included and the "cheat sheet" cards are useful when getting started with the kit. The sphere was secure on the flash and didn't get knocked loose even on a crowded dance floor. Very happy with the purchase.
