Got mine from my Company Commander in Afghanistan 2010. I use this knife for everything from cutting boards to using it like a laser pointer when briefing soldiers to picking my teeth. My son's now in the military and I plan on getting him one for Christmas.

Knife is great had mine over a year, and it's been used. But one time after having it for about 2 months I opened it and it was stuck open. I tried everything to get it closed and no luck. Because of covid they weren't really accepting warranty items. Well the ungodly amount of loctite on the screws led to me stripping some before I decided I hit them with a little heat. I wrote in several times to be ignored. And then finally when answered I was shipped the wrong screws. So now I have a loose knife and beat screws I don't even think will come out. I still love the knife wear and all. But it would be great if I could tighten it up.

Best knife I ever had I used it to cut drywall ,as a pry bar for baseboards ,hammer ,and even a chisel I loved this knife had it for 10 years at least until it was stolen

I have had my 06 FAST for about 5 years now, and it's my EDC knife. I'm a 100% disabled vet and have some mobility issues, and the 06 FAST one handed operation makes it very easy for me to use. I have been a Gerber fan since back in the early 1980's. Just can't beat the quality of a Gerber.

Overall, this knife is a great edc carry and self defense option for someone looking for an assisted knife. While although the speed of the opening is slightly slower than the Gerber Swagger AO, it still consistently opens quickly and locks in place every time. The knife was razor sharp when opened out of the package. I also really enjoy that this knife has a safety mechanism. Knowing that I can carry it wherever on my body and not having to worry about it stabbing me is absolutely amazing. That having been said however. The blade itself could be a little less serrated. For my needs the serrations take up to much of the blade itself. Also, the biggest draw back to this knife is the rattle from the assisted opening spring when the blade is drawn. The rattle makes it sound cheap and flimsy. Overall however this is a great knife for the price.

I love this knife. I've had it for about six years, I believe. It cuts well with regular sharpening, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I really like this knife, its nice and hefty the only thing i would change about it is make the safety slide, i would change it to aluminum or something besides plastic, because some people I'm sure will find the jimping on it a little sharp on your finger, and when you close it its a stiff, but it opens perfect and is very sturdy, its come pretty sharp also, and unlike Daniel i don't use my knifes as screw drivers, so don't do that.

A great folding knive, but the tip is a little bit weak, never try to use the tip as a screw driver!!! You"ll loose the tip.

The knife has all the features I want in an EDC except the tip is too thin and weak. Hopefully Gerber will upgrade ithe design but will probably pull it out of production before doing that.

This was gifted to me by my wife for Father's Day. I really love this knife. The handle contour, the blade design, the smooth FAST action, etc. the blade steel is adequate, but what really knock out a star was the thinness of the blade. The overall thickness was ok, but as you go up to the point, it becomes really thin and fragile. This was my go-to favorite knife until i bent the tip by simply sticking it to a piece of wood. Had to pry it back into shape, and for its sentimental value, i decided to set it aside for an occasional use. Still a good knife though. Just wished the tip is stronger.

I've gone through three of them (lost or stolen) I've carried one for about six years I love them, it's about the only folder I'll carry for every day use. The main problem I have with the 06 fast though is the construction. If it was built with the same quality as the 06 auto it would be perfect.

when i first purchased this knife, i gave it a 3 star review, but i am re-reviewing it. i have had it for about a year and a half now, and it still opens the way it did when i purchased it. yes you can hear the spring, but it hasnt lost its opening power, and ive only oiled it once. the steel isnt the best, but no breaks or chips ( just the one serration that i stated in my first review) and a little blade wobble that i tighten every once in a while. all in all its not as flimsy as i thought

Best dang knife I've ever owned. I use this knife for everything. Cutting, opening various things, and doing things with this knife for things that weren't meant for a knife. It's still taking a beating. I did order a second one of these in the off chance that I loose it.

This knife is tough like the old Tonka trucks we used to play with years ago. I have used this knife in countless ways that I'm sure the designers didn't intend for it. This knife has been in the rain, been used to cut both raw and cooked meat, seafood, bread, fruits and vegetables. I've used this knife hunting and fishing salt water and fresh water. Ive used it to open cans when I didn't have a can opener, used it to pry things open and blade didn't give me any issues afterwards. I've cut plastic, cardboard, wires, rope, wood, sticks, and anything else in between. Heck I've used it to open oysters!! I've beat it too death and it just keeps going!! Great job Gerber for building a quality knife. I have countless knives in all price ranges from the greatest knive makers and yet my go to everyday knife I use at work is this rough, tough, reliable knife is this one. Blade keeps a sharp edge with all the abuse I give it! I sharpen it about once or twice a month

Purchased this one at a local store. Feels good in my hand. Only complaint about it is that the spring inside the handle is loud and sounds like it is going to snap ever time I open the knife.

i purchased this knife and was impressed by the weight, shape, and feel of it, but that feeling was quickly diminished. there is extreme blade wobble, and the steel is horrible. i have had many knives with the 7cr7mov steel and i kind of like it, but on this the serrations were chipped and bent after cutting through 1 cardboard box. to sum it up, i am afraid to use any force on this knife because it feels very delicate, yet it loos so beefy and feels nice and heavy

I love this knife! I've always carried Gerber Knifes & only Gerber Knifes. This is by far my favorite over the paraframe type. I live the spring loaded blade with the button lock. My only bone to pick with this particular knife is out bulky it is & the pocket clip is upside down & too tight. But other than that I LOVE IT.

This knife keeps a sharp edge for a while, has good fast opening and is overall pretty sturdy. The clip is too stiff to clip on to anything but good enough for edc

I own two of these, one bought new and one from a pawn shop. Both are very rugged, have very sturdy lockup, and open very fast and easy. The blade is my problem, after a couple weeks of use I haven't been able to put a sharp edge back on either. If they were sharp this knife would be a perfect large EDC.
