Terrible pliers. I tries to tighten a sunglasses nut with this pliers and they broke.  They didn't need much force to bend and break.

I live on a sailboat and wanted something that would handle many tasks w/o requiring specialized tools. The scissors are trash. They will only cut within the first 1-2mm of the blades. Basically USELESS!!!!!

I got one of these . After 4 years one day using the pliers , it broke. I contacted Gerber and they replaced it for free. I am very happy with the product and the warranty. I m gonna buy more Gerbers for my kids soon.

This is a great option for a small EDC multi tool (every day carry). Although it isn't near as beefy as its larger siblings, it is still very thought out and has decent functionality. Because of its size, I carry it daily in the watch pocket of my blue jeans. Tow big bonuses are the external bottle opener that can be used without "opening" the tool up. The "package opener" is an awesome tool that the competitors don't have. I was surprised how often and useful the "package opener" is, especially when opening those pesky bubble packs that the big box stores so often package their mass-produced items in. The downside, which comes from it's compact size and weight, is that it won't perform well during heavy duty jobs - for this you will need a full size multi tool or a stand alone tool, such as a screw driver, pliers etc, for the job your trying to complete. Bought this product as a back up to my leatherman. I thought this multi-tool is of the same product size like Leatherman's sidekick etc but to my disappointment. The product name suggest it 'Dime'. Gerber Ad Dept was good to showcase the look as a bigger multi-tool. This product might be good in an office but not in the garage.

Get rid of the Package opener (use the space for a lengthened flathead or Phillips), lengthen the Flathead and the Phillips drivers and fix the horrible file. Then the tool would be almost perfect.

Bought one few years ago and put it on my key ring along with a mini-Mag mini flashlight- both go with me everywhere. Amazing combination for any situation. Gerber Dime has been used so many times and has been through some hard use....keeps holding up and doing the job! Use it more than my Leatherman!

No, the pliers won't crack the nuts on your 24 inch GMC tires, or cut 8AWG cable, but if you use it for the little things as intended, it works fine.

perfect mini-tool on the kitchen counter to grab and use for dozens of lightweight jobs. package opener is super useful. if you need to wrench on something with all your weight go get some full-size pliers. gonna gift to my team next year.

Handy lil guy. I get allot of use out of the box cutter blade. The filter is useless as it has no length to get a stroke out of. Overall an easy carry and decent pliers.

I think there is great demand for a decent mini multitool. There are few more practical things in life than that. People are willing to pay for that. But DIME is far from decent and I don't want to carry around anything unreliable. Give me a call when you turned the sturdiness up five notches.

I've been using this tool for the last 2 years and have grown to love it. I bought it for my wife who thought it was too big for her key chain, so she gave to me. Just three things would make it perfect. 1. Remove the tweezers the plyers can serve this function. 2. Improve the knife lock and steel. 3. This is just a wish make it out of titanium. It's a great little tool and would be well worth the efforts it has become part of my EDC. Thanks

I received this extra goody that came along with a Rip Stop I pocket knife that I had asked for Christmas. While the pocket knife is exactly what I wanted, this little multi tool has become my new best friend and I've made it part of my work uniform. I don't leave the house without it! Inexpensive price for what you get, but absolutely priceless.

I just got the tool from Amazon and I was playing with it then there was a little metal peace that got in front of the opening mechanism and i didn't notice so I bent the metal and I couldn't close the tool

I got this as a small graduation gift over 5 years ago and I have carried it with me every single day since. The flathead tip has bent a bit, but that is my fault for trying to force it. Other than that, I have had to complaints. I've used it at least once/week for 5 years running and it is beat to heck, but still working perfectly. I will buy this again once my current one breaks, but I don't see that happening any time soon. It is still in great shape after all the wear and tear. Especially after getting wet many, many times.
