I use this multitool every day. I even used it to tear down a small outboard motor for my sailboat dingy to clean out the carburetor while at the Dry Tortugas, a life saver. While it got the job done and hundreds of others, the design is a often called upon to push it's capabilities. Gerber has been great honoring its lifetime guarantee. The system could stand a few minor design changes to beef up the tool in high wear and stress areas as I hate to have to request a replacement so often.

Great size, good selection of tools for what it is the blades have cut everything I needed cut with a tool this size. the screw drivers are mostly useless, but I didn't care about them, so meh? the mini pliers though were the main reason to carry for me, but now the sheath lock no longer stops the hyperextension, rendering the pliers useless for gripping anything small. I typically used them as pot grips, for hiking. to pull steel cups and whatnot off the fire, but now I can't trust them for that

This is one of the handiest edc multi tools I have owned. I also own the gerber suspension but this is the one i seem to rely on. The tools are a bit stiff to access but I can still use them without much of a problem. This stiffness is the only thing stopping me from giving it a five star review. But all in all I am really happy with this piece.

I was given the previous version - Clutch as a gift several years ago. It served me well for a while, but eventually the spring plate for the pliers gave way on one side, rendering them inoperable. I sent it in for warranty repair and was given the Vise as a replacement. I've had it for going on 2 years, and it's held up okay as a mechanic's EDC. The flat blade screwdriver on the bottle opener snapped off several months ago while attempting to turn a stuck fastener that admittedly was too large for the tool, but it was still plenty useful without it. Then last week, the catch for the serrated blade cracked after cutting some packing tape. I considered submitting it to the warranty department, but I decided instead to try an American-made alternative. I loved the Vise dearly, and it has been a constant companion, always in my watch pocket when I needed it, but the time has come to move on.

I purchased a CLUTCH which is an older version of the vise, it served me well for several years and then recently the pliers failed, one side gave way and would not work again. i contacted GERBER by email with this issue in hopes that they would come up with a replacement part to fix my problem. within 48 hours as they promised with a reply email I was contacted by phone and by email. after a few quick emails and telephone conversations with the GERBER REP I was shipped a free replacement tool, the new and improved VISE which I carry every day on my keychain and have used several times already. It is a very handy pocket tool that seems to be there right when yo need it. I am very happy with the VISE and also very HAPPY with how I was looked after. GERBER stands behind there products very well, THANK YOU !!!!! P.S. I will continue to by GERBER products feeling secure that GERBER has my back

I loved this tool until my pliers started popping and pinching me and my son. I have sent it in for warranty work. It saved me from financial death one night after the machine at ExxonMobil would not give up my debit card. With the pliers I was able to remove my debit card by gently pulling it out of the machine.
