Great Value for a good knife.

I've generally always had some kind of pocket knife, but at some point in my 30s I found myself without. I bought a few cheap folders over a few years that were really just garbage knives, until one day I picked up this Gerber. For my uses it has been wonderful. Lightweight, not too small of a blade, not too big. Cuts well, locks solidly. No issues closing the blade, though maybe some are stiffer than others? Easy to sharpen when you need to... For the price, as a casual knife that can do a lot, this is the best knife I've owned in many years.

I would highly recommend this knife. I have been using this knife for fifteen plus years. It is a sleek and sturdy knife. It fits in your pocket so easy that you or anyone doesn't even know its there. Great quality for such a small knife. I have had three of them over the years. And they didn't wear out or break. I just up and lost them.

I love my knife! I have had it for years. It has been with me thru alot. I let my coworker us it the other ay and he was able to break the blade. I was shocked that it broke, and have missed it every day. This is possibly the best lite pocket knife I have ever owned and will be looking for the replacement blade for it.

Urban Jungle Must have

I always wear slacks or dress pants, part of the job. This knife it PERFECT. Small, sleek, all black is great touch. slips in pocket with little to no weight. once oiled and sharpened, easy open and close with one hand. does not hold edge long but easy to resharpen. I had my first one for 6 years till i lost it and had to buy the same one not even a question.

I have owned the STL 2.5 for 2 years now and I love it. It has a really nice feel - slim and smooth. The blade has a unique way of closing, being a slope in the spring steel casing that is pulled back slightly to move the blade. I have not had to sharpen it yet, it is my constant companion.

This is the best pocket knife I have ever seen for the price. Used it for everything and it has handled it all. Light and easy to carry stays sharp with a little care. Five stars.

Small Knife, easy to use on peeling fruits and vegetable. Great for cutting tapes open and what not. Only downside is that the edge doesn't hold very long.

Had this knife for about 6 years, Used it everywhere and never left home without it. Fits well in the pocket without the extra weight. Perfect for the little things that may require a blade. Great blade for the price!

Best knife I've owned. Well made. A "minimalist" knife--has just the essentials. Small, light, and flat. Blade keeps its edge.

This knife is easily the favorite of my collection. It's probably the best value knife I've come across. 7Cr17MoV blade takes and holds an edge about as well as any steel I've come across (including much pricier steels). I used it extensively during a recent family beach vacation and I noticed a little corrosion on the handle and blade, but it was easily sharpened away and removed with oil. So, you might want to keep a thin coat of 3-in-1 or your preferred lube on it. I believe Gerber makes a similar-looking knife with a 440 stainless blade, and I'd avoid that one as the steel will be disappointing.

Great Knife, Marginal steel

Overall I am extremely pleased with this knife. My only complaint is that is doesnt hold an edge as well as some of Gerbers other products.

I carry this knife everywhere I go, and while it may not be large enough to act as a good defense knife in a fight, it does its job as a general tool. The back of the blade is curved enough to act as a flat-head screwdriver and it's small enough to conceal almost anywhere. I didn't like how skinny the handle is, as it makes it hard to use with gloves and doesn't work well with my large hands. It's curved enough that you can overcome the size factor and actually get leverage, however it requires a bit of practice to find that spot where it sits well in your hand. The edge is easily sharpened and rarely goes dull from use or carry. An excellent little knife to carry around and you hardly even know it's there.

The Gerber STL 2.5 is completely constructed of 7Cr17MoV stainless steel with a super thin machined handle. It weights in at only 1.5 ounces. The fine edged drop point blade is 2.5 inches long, making this knife ideal for everyday carrying. It is great for all those times you find yourself reaching for a knife throughout the day such as opening packages, cutting rope, or even slicing an apple.
