Gerber Freescape Camp Hatchet, Green

I bought this hatchet to replace my previous Gerber hatchet which was one of my two "go-to" tools before I lost it in August 2022. That hatchet went with me everywhere - it had a real sheath (similar to the Pack Hatchet) - and a real hatchet head - similar to the Pack Hatchet. Needless to say that while I appreciate the handle and quality of the new model I do not appreciate the head size or the sheath. Unfortunately, I also bought one of these for my son - who frequently borrowed my old one - and now I'm going to have to find another Christmas present. I couldn't take the response if I gave hime this one. Bottom line, I appreciate the quality but the Pack Hatchet will fit my needs much better.

I have seen 2 reviews that want an X7 Sheath for this axe. Must be an old style because the Fiskars X7 sheath does not attach to a belt, pack, or anything. It's really good at hanging on a hook in a retail store. Request a sheath that attaches to a belt, the X7 isn't it.

This hatchet is awesome. Perfect mid sized ax. I've had mine about 7 years now & put it through tons of abuse. It takes a beating & keeps asking for more. While its lightweight the bit still has enough weight to cut & split wood w/ ease. Keeps a great edge so long as you keep it out of the dirt. It goes w/ me everywhere. I would definitely recommend this hatchet.

I first have something negative to say, please make a sheath for this axe so i can get rid of this stock ugly and bulky sheath. Other than this little axe is awesome
