I have owned one of these knives since 1994. I was in the Army then and used it for opening cans of rations and carving wooden survival tools. It accompanied me on every deployment of my army career. I still have it, and it has field dressed dozens of deer. It never got so much as a nick in the blade. It always returns to a razor edge when sharpened. I love this knife.

I got this knife when I was a kid back in the late 90's. I found it in the mud and muck of the woods while romping around trails behind our house in southern Maryland. I've since moved to upstate New York(regrettable decision) and I still carry this knife around after years and years of use and abuse this thing has never failed me the only problem I've ever had was chipping of 1/8 inch off the tip when I was a kid when I used it to pop the chain back on my bike. I don't know if I'll ever find the original owner but I'm buying another simply for the fact that Gerber as a company has earned my money for such a long lasting product. If anyone is looking to get a knife for their son or daughter get one of these their the best quality knife you can get for the money and it'll last a lifetime if not longer, finally if you happen to have lost this knife in St. Mary's County sorry you lost it but thanks as well and let me know if you want it back ;)

I purchased this knife while I was active duty Army. This was my every day carry knife in the Army until I retired in 2004. I have used this knife for EVERYTHING!! Cutting commo wire, cutting camo netting, skinning fish, skinning small game, whittling, and everything else in between. This knife has been one of those tough knives that I relied on time and time again! Still going strong! This knife will be one that I pass down to my son with pride! As long as he takes care of it, it should last him his lifetime!

My Special Forces father bought me this knife and it had been proven very useful over the 8 years I had it. Some time ago my Jeep got broken into and they took some small items along with my Gerber knife same as shown here. I was very disappointed as this had a special meaning to me. Im trying to get my gear back together and I will get another one . I liked how the handle was always grippy and not cold like most all metal knives are. Easy to sharpen and held an edge .

Have had the serrated and plain versions since 1990s, and have dressed a dozen deer over the years. Great knife and incredible for the price. Highly recommend!

I purchased the gator serrated in 1991 and have NOT been gentle on the blade. In that time i have taken care of the rubberized handle with ordinary hand and dish soap on a rag or sponge when it got too dirty. it's intact to this day but does get a little tacky at times. That's to be expected of the compound though and frankly not a issue as it add to grip. The blade had been through three Sheetrock walls during various tasks in emergency situations when no other tools were available. The serrated edge has cut through rope, cords, etrc. The edge has always come back with light care and will shave to this day. I recommend the gerber diamond rod with the notch to revive the serrations. The sheath has been replaced several times, and another is in transit to me now. Def a workhorse of a knife. Blade is just under the legal limit for Florida statutes and court rulings if you happen to live in the sunshine state. Considering another just as a gift to my son-in-law as mine is older than he is.

The blade holds a razor sharp edge and its a very durable knife. The rubber handle with an alligator skin desing is my favorite part because its not only feels amazing but its just the right length to fit into your hand. Love this knife!

I too purchased a Gator in the 1990's as I backpacked weekends and with many trips used the knife frequently carrying it on my pack. Now, I carry it when I travel and out on the ATV. Great quality, the serrated edge has been extremely useful and like others before have mentioned, the blade keeps its edge. Quality stuff, going to purchase a second one and another for my son.

Got my gator in 1991. Used it as an every day carry everywhere I went. When I went out to California because my brother was murdered out there. The local county sheriff warned me no guns so the gator was all I had. It seemed to get respect when needed. I was working in a house one day and a guy tripped some breakers and the circuit box started smoking. Main breaker box was locked. Gator to rescue. I cut several wires and stopped the electrical short. Gator only had a slight burn mark. Last week I was helping a guy resecure his tarps out on the highway. Needless to say I lost the knife. Just bought another one through the military exchange system. If you trust a knife with your life get a gator. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

I was given this knife by my father right before I shipped out for sea in the merchant marine for a year and have continued to carry it and use it throughout my last 5 years in the military. It is the most reliable and best all around knife I have ever had.

Hands downs my favorite knife. Hiked, Dived, camped, and used in my daily life for 20 years. Keep in in car just in case. Put it in my kids cars along with a flashlight and some water. Great all around tool.

I have had this knife since the early 90's, it has served me well for day to day use and regular hunting trips. I have a large collection of knives, and this is still my favorite.

I've had this knife at least 20 years and still keep it razor sharp and nice. This was my third Gerber. First was a Gerber Mark 1 Combat knife got as Naval Special Warfare Group SEAL Support. Vietnam 68/69. Second was the Divers Knife.

I found this knife in a park yesterday. Someone stole my Paraframe II a few years back so I'm happy to have a new Gerber. This one is even better and I love it already. It got it's first day of use this morning at work and it cut with ease. And I absolutely love the grip. There's no knife on earth that's as comfortable, grippy & lightweight as this one. Thanks Gerber and thank you karma!

The Gerber Gator Clip Point Serrated Edge Knife's handle is made of glass-filled nylon and it's covered with a rubberized alligator skin texture for a tacky, comfortable grip. The lock-back clip point blade has a serrated edge and is forged from 420HC stainless steel, sheathed in a heavy-duty nylon case.
