This slider is extremely choppy. Not smooth at all. Also, because of the double rail system, the camera is wobbly as it slides from one end to another. Avoid at all costs. Spend money elsewhere.

Four stars based on unique benefits and value (50% off sale). Starting with the basics: slider base rails are sturdy and heavy, plates glide smoothly and are reasonably stable, leveling feet are well designed and solid. Can be disassembled and made into two complete medium sliders (removing belts as well) probably not that important, but good to know if you like to take things apart. Belt system is ok, but can be better with a little effort. Flipping the belt so the smooth side is against the roller, as well as sanding down the casting ridges on the rollers gives a much better result. Tension on the belts was a bit low from factory, tightening them also improves slides. Now for the reason it gets four stars. The compound slide is pretty damn cool and works well after the fixes listed above. You need a heavy duty stand/tripod, a ball-head will not support this unless it is super heavy duty. Think of using a very heavyweight video head if you want angled slides. Being able to swing the slider on a fluid head can give some unique results. Combine it with a small gimbal for very cool crane/jib type results.

It has a fluid movement. Its sturdy but not very heavy. It came with a nice bag, and works smooth with my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.

Versatile and portable. Tweak the tension a little and reverse the belt to the smooth side and it works great for what it is. The dual action slide makes it really fun to operate on a tripod. This smokes the other 2' sliders, and I actually prefer this over the much more expensive long ones with the pulley knob.
