I have a 7D with a 50mm lens on it however it's hard to balance it. I tried using a Sigma 30mm lens but had a hard time balancing it.

This will not only teach you how to balance your rig, it is pretty well made for the money. It is not for an on the go professional, but if you want to shoot some video with a dslr this thing is a great deal.

For the price this stabilizer works as expected. Provides good stabilization for smaller, lightweight cameras. Makes hand-held video shots smoother. Remember this is an inexpensive, basic unit. As long as you have reasonable expectations, it's a good piece of gear to have in your bag.
