This was a disappointment. The print on the focus card was bleeding onto the grey card within days of use, most of which was in my camera bag. I didn't expect this to be so fragile. The quality is very low for a product of this price. The colors did look better after calibration. This form factor is convenient to have with you but in practice (for video) it's arguably too small. I also feel that the focus and gray card panels are redundant/unnecessary for most users. I'm considering trying a different model and plan on carrying it in it's own hard case in my camera bag. I don't have any experience with other manufacturers but I'm unimpressed with X-Rite's print quality.

Getting correct color has always been expensive, but it still seems a tad overpriced in my opinion. On the other hand, it would save a lot of time if you have a lot of work and pay pay for itself that way. I don’t personally have a lot of work, but what I do needs to be good. This has really helped me get more consistent results.

The specific reason I bought this is that, held with the white / grey / black bars vertical, it is very simple to start the color grading using the parade. Very handy!

I will never think this is not overpriced. There has to be something better.

Very useful! Skin tones have always been a problem for me when shooting video, and this has helped me to keep them consistent and looking good shot by shot. It also has a great focus chart and a gray card.

Matching colors from different cameras is a pain. You need this if you film with more than one camera and want to match it post.

I bought this since it works with Color Finally for color grading. I know you can do it manually but the combination with color finally just makes it quick and easy. I recommend it.

An essential part of my mobile video production is the X-Rite Colorchecker passport. Very easy to use and works seamlessly with Color Finale for Final Cut Pro to save countless hours in post production to get white balance right and then apply color grading for the final look I'm after. I noticed the plastic hinges are very tight on the unit I have, and I'm not sure they are all this way. I wish it was a little bit looser so it would be easier to manipulate (open/close)
