Great product for the price. It's mobile and does the job of a beauty dish. One thing is the grid does not make much of a difference with light spread. I would be better off getting a metal beauty dish and then getting grids for that and have a wider range of options for degrees.

So far quite pleased with this beauty dish. With the white interior it is somewhere between a soft box and a beauty dish. Very easy to setup and I like the profile and size. It seems well made, though I haven’t put it through the test of time yet. The grid is functional, and an extra cost item. Wish it was better shaped to fit the octagonal shape. It is kind of freeform, so it does fit, but would have preferred actual corners that match up. The light it puts it is very soft, and pleasing, and still figuring the best ways to use it. But bang for the buck is high, and I think I might get the 28” silver one to see if that is more beauty dish like, with a bit of edge to it. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and think it was a good investment.

Glow modifiers are cheap, and you get what you pay for. The light coming out of them has a slightly yellow tint that you need to correct for in post, and they don't last long at all before they show signs of wear and light leaks. Save your money, buy Westcott and rest assured you'll get a quality product.

I'm more than impressed with this beauty dish & grid! It's of exceptional quality and for a great price. It collapses down similar to an umbrella but easy to carry and use. Just open like an umbrella and then extend the interlocking elbows for a sleek reflector. Attach the diffusion for softbox effect, and even add the included grid with the greatest of ease for a more directed light.

All I can say is I wish this was available when I purchased the 36" rapid box. The spread of light is beautiful, the hot spots are minimal and the set-up time is fast. The grid is effective without being overly aggressive (30 degree) and I use this modifier on my flashpoint xplor 600 with a Nikon d800e and 85 1.4g lens. The results have been fantastic and I will use it for years to come.

This modifier is just right for portability but big enough for excellent results for on location portraits, very easy to fold it up and set it up again in the field, very nice even warm light (the diffuser is slightly yellow in color which for me is a good thing). This color gives a slight warming filter effect which is great for high speed sync (the light would otherwise be a bit too blue).

These types of grids are relatively easy to use and they work. They are a bit cumbersome to store, but it's just the nature of the beast, I suspect. I honestly don't know how they could be designed to be any easier to deploy and tear down for storage, so, it's a minor deal. They do add flexibility to the dish, for sure, and are light weight, a definite plus for travel, which is what the dish is designed for.
