RYAN M : What is a flashpoint mount? For the 300 and 400?MICHAEL D : The "Flashpoint" mount is for the Flashpoint "M" series strobes. The mount has four tabs as opposed to a Bowens mount which has three tabs. Please note that "Flashpoint" Mount strobes strobes are not compatible with Bowens Mount modifiers. Shopper : How can I use my flashpoint monolight with this softbox?HERBERT M : I use it a great, natural looking fill flash outdoors. I've also used it at night.Kenneth G : The Glow ParaPop usually comes with the flash bracket that allows you to use your portable flash unit with the ParaPop, but if you want to mount this collapsible soft box on your Flashpoint Monolight you need the Glow Speed Ring Adapter. There are only three small screws to remove the flash bracket and to mount the Speed Ring which allows the ParaPop to mount onto the Monolight. I have the Flashpoint 620M (300ws) with the portable battery pack and when I use it with the collapsible ParaPop,(I actually have two RIME LITE Speedbox 12's which are the same as the Glow ParaPop) it makes on location shooting a lot easier.ELAINE B : Be sure you purchase the correct mounting ring for the flashpoint monolight. Then remove the 3 tiny screws from the speedlight mount on the softbox (mine were very hard to remove because the screws were so tight). Mount your speedring to the softbox using the same 3 screws (trade the speedlight mount part that automatically comes on the softbox with the speedring for your monolight).RICHARD R : You have to buy a strobe adapter ring that fits the series monolight you have. The one that comes with the unit doesn't fit the DG series monolights.
Shopper : do these mounts go with specific types of Flash units?RODERICK J : Yes. This one mounts the parapop line to the Flashpoint lights with their specific mount type. I'm not sure what other mounting options they offer for parapop line, if any, as I ordered for flashpoint mount.

Wrong item but still works great

By my own fault I did purchase the wrong item for my Glow parabolic, that being said the ring fit perfectly on the Flashpoint Strobe itself. I have no doubt that if it would have fit the softbox, then it would have worked fantastic. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars was that it is a bit pricey for hard plastic, would have been more impressed if it was metal only for concerns of it breaking if it fell.

What you need but you don’t know

Was included in my purchase but there aren’t any instructions on this. Just make sure you watch YouTube for why you will use this with your Parapop. It’s the adapter but for a beginner like me, there weren’t any instructions.

Beware- Its plastic

Careful this will not work with any modeling light or high temp strobe light. Unfortunately this is the only adapter ring I can find to fit my glow parapop to my flashpoint m series strobe light.

Plastic Melts

Plastic mounts are not good for continuous model lights. I will order another one because I don't have an option, and like the light modifier, but plastic was not a wise choice for production.

Not much of a speed ring.

The only thing that's nice about this speed ring is the weight. It doesn't rotate or move on my strobe, so getting the light dialed in on the subject is not easy. With my metal speed rings I can go vertical to horizontal and in between by just grabbing the modifier and twisting it. This cheap plastic ring, which probably costs .25 cents to manufacture, is not nearly up to professional standards.

Perfect for diy flashpoint mount adapter.

Before owning any flashpoint mount monolights, I previously owned different light modifiers with different mounts. With the speedring adapter, and the flashpoint beauty dish mount adapter, I've converted all my light modifiers to fit the flashpoint mount with the use of a drill and 1mm bolts and nuts. Now I can swap softboxes and beauty dishes quickly without having to cary other monolights.
