Great for Keeping Travel Trailer Battery Charged

I received this as gift from my Amazon wish list to keep my travel trailer battery charged between uses. It works great. My blue light burned put and the suction cups are a little fragile, but it still charges,

HAndy product!

I got this to keep the batteries on my F250 from going flat as the truck doesn't get much use these days. Over the last few months I've had to jump the truck from another vehicle but with the Maintainer that's in the past. Just this past weekend I was able to get the truck up and running on the first crank. Very convenient to use. Glad I purchased it.

Maintainer 10 FYI!

The panel works good as advertised. I tried placing it inside on my dash with it plugged into my powerpoint (always on) cigarette lighter but it didn't work and my battery still died. I then mounted the panel outside on my roof and use the battery clamp connecting directly to my battery. This seemed to work fine, don't waste your time leaving it inside your car it does not get enough power to charge or even maintain your battery. The only issue I had was while installing the suction cups to the panel, the clips are very flimsy and will break very easy even if you are careful. The panel is great, but the clips are a poor design and should be alot more durable. I contacted customer support and they were very helpful and are sending me out more of the clips. Also, I figured a way to secure my panel ouside my vehicle so it won't get stolen. Get a piece of coated metal cable from home depot or somewhere (whatever length you think you will need) and run one end through the handle of the panel. Then secure the 2 ends with a swedge. Take the other end, and you can either attached a clip or form a loop so you can use a lock to secure it to whatever you want. I hope this help you... If it wasn't for the poor design of the clips I would have given this 5 stars!!!

Works as advertised

Really helps when you're out somewhere isolated and you have several devices running off your vehicles battery. GZ says you can't chain these for more charging power, but there is a work around. Since most newer cars/trucks have multiple power ports just plug one into each. Another solution is to purchase one of those power port adapters that let you plug more than one device onto one port. I found a great place to put these is between the sun roof glass(if you have one) and the sliding sun shade. I put tape over the switch so I don't accidentally open it! Overall though, a great product, especially with all the connectors it comes with.

Would buy again if I had need for another.

I bought this to keep my vehicle's battery charged since it's not used daily. I have previously gone out to a dead battery at 3 in the morning on occasion. I needed a setup that would work -inside- the vehicle. I saw in the Q/A that others had this same need. Myself, I park in a community parking lot, and just feel safer that way. Since I set this up a month or so ago, I have not come out to a dead battery. Left it for a week and a half recently and battery was at 12.67 volts. Note: It does sit in the shade for most the day, and I have some sort of parasidic battery drain. After looking to put together something myself using a similar setup, it was awfully close to the same cost. I decided to go with this and am very happy with it. My only comment otherwise is some thoughts regarding the SAE connector. I had emailed support, but have not seen any response via email nor an update to the site. Prior to it arriving, I had already setup a SAE connector in my car (the cigarette socket disconnects when the key is off, so that wasn't an option without re-wiring the car). When I attach one of those SAE connectors to a battery, I always have the negative/ground as the exposed terminal so if it happens to hit any part of the frame while disconnected there are no sparks, fires, or blown fuses. I suspected there was a chance the SAE adapter that came with the maintainer would be wired backwards to mine since I had heard of chargers doing this before, but felt safer with the wiring on my own car the way I had done it as the potential amperage is much greater in the battery than the panel. Needless to say, I made an adapter so I could actually plug it in. So, at a minimum it would be good to document the polarity of the connector on the site and user guide for future customers so at least they are aware. I don't know if there's a SAE connector out there with color coding, but adding that wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe also offering the opposite polarity connector, again color coded for clarity, but I won't push my luck. ;-)

Battery drain in the off season can be a real bummer. The Maintainer 10 Trickle Charger is specifically engineered to be an all-in-one solar solution to keep 12V batteries preserved when not in use, like those found in motorcycles, cars, boats, tractors, off-road vehicles, etc. Also an in-line regulator so you never have to worry about over-charging and discharging. The Maintainer 10 is built to withstand the elements with tempered glass and a durable aluminum frame.

Maintenance-Free Trickle Charger
Built-in solar panel for complete plug-and-play battery protection. In-line charge controller never over-charges.

Easy Installation
Removable suction cups and durable loops for quick attachment. Long-lasting battery connectors

Durable, Weatherproof Construction
Tempered glass and aluminum frame to withstand the elements. Highly-efficient monocrystaline panel.

Charging: How The Maintainer 10 Trickle Charger Works
This plug-and-play solar trickle charger prevents the natural battery drain in 12V lead acid batteries found in motorcycles, cars, boats, recreational vehicles, tractors, etc. This natural drain tends to happen when 12V batteries are left unused during an off-season. Lead acid batteries last longer when kept fully charged at all times, even when not in use. Also includes a built-in charger regulator to avoid over-charging and reverse discharging.

Position the solar trickle charger when it receives the most direct sunlight as possible and connect to the battery using one of the connectors. Proven effective during all types of sunlight-including cloudy conditions.
