I got this as a gift and have had it for a year now and it is a great speaker. Its rugged and durable. I left it out in the pouring rain and still works like a champ

I have gone through 2 of these speakers already hoping that the first was just defective. It has great sound and battery will lasts several hours. However after a few uses, the fully charged battery will only last a couple hours if that. I use my speaker for long bike rides, so losing your music all of a sudden is horrible.

I bought this speaker for my outdoor fitness classes, and I was not disappointed! I love the design, look and portability. Not to forget it's toughness....My wife instructs also, and I purchased this most recent one for her. One of the bonus features that we loved was the ability to link speakers together. I would hav egiven five stars but there isn't a volume control sans whatever device that you are using.....

I bought 4 of these little speakers when they went on sale for $9.99 and to my surprise they do not sound half bad. They could be a bit louder and a bit better on the bass, and like the new speakers I wish the speaker controls were on the outside. I spend more than my fair share of time listening to my music and for the price not bad.

I have bought a few Goal Zero products in the past, I have never been dissatisfied. They build great products, test them extensively. I purchased the 2x Rockout V1 Speaker. For $25, it was a steal. I couldn't resist. I just received it today. I am impressed. Buy it. That is all I can say. They also have an amazing customer service. If any issues occur (I doubt there would be) they are there 24/7. Thank you Goal Zero for expressing your quality at a reasonable price. I look forward to more products. Keep it up!

I saw the the speaker at Costco. I heard the more expensive one and asked how this one sounded. He showed me. It sounded great but not loud as the other. I asked if it would play louder. He said yes depending on the device. I took a chance and bought it, hooked it up on my tablet and phone. It sounded great on both. I could put it really loud and the sound was still great. I wish I had bought another.

For its size this speaker system packs some sound. Excellent battery life and charges quickly. Perfect for just about any activity.

This speaker goes anywhere and runs forever (not literally!). It kicks out great sound, of course, and has a rugged, durable case that will protect your phone too. It is low-tech compared to speakers that are wireless and have more controls, but simple is better sometimes. We've bought three so far.

We got one of these speakers a couple of months ago, and have used them for everything from meetings to music in the house, to car trips, for great sound. The output is rich, full, and the volume goes up to 11!

I like to listen to my IPod as I move from room to room in the house. Much more convenient than wearing an arm band with the IPod in it and using earbuds. I can share my music with others with the speaker. Very portable, easy to take with me when I travel.

I received one of these speakers as a gift and I use it all the time when I bike ride or rollerblade at the beach. I usually put it in my bike basket, but I have also connected it to the handlebars or a belt using the built-in bungee cord. I liked it so much that I bought 2 more to daisy-chain together for tailgating, etc. The only improvement that I would suggest is the ability to adjust the volume on the speaker itself.

A friend of mine showed me this product at a business meeting when we were showing a DVD on my laptop. She hooked it to my computer and the sound was crisp, clear, and strong. I loved the difference it made in the audio output. So, I immediately rushed out myself to get one and was excited when it arrived, eager to try it out. Everything looked exactly the same as hers, only when it came time to implement, I went looking for the volume control switch I had used on the one my friend had. Mine didn't have it. So, I had to control the volume on my device (laptop, smartphone, etc.). The sound is still great, but with only 1 setting on the unit, it's not quite the best product I was expecting.

I use this primarily to play music from a portable music player, but it's also a great all-purpose amplified speaker one could use to check lines or use as a quick monitor speaker in some cases. I bought mine a couple of years ago and I have never been able to run the battery flat. I recharge it now and then and don't give it a thought. For a small pair of speakers, the quality is very good, probably the best small speakers I have heard for this purpose. I'm a recording engineer and use studio reference monitors in my home, so I suppose my opinion may be of some value. Let me put it this way, I don't think you'll be disappointed with this product!

I use this to listen to music from my iPod and for sound when I watch movies. The sound is ok. I wish there was a way to tell how charged up it was so I would know if it needed to be charged. Also the plug seems be a little loose and does not fit really tight. I purchased an extension and it helped out. Overall I like the speaker and will continue to use it.

Great construction. Multiple uses. Sounds tinny. Needs more 'high end'. It sounds like you're listening thru a pillow. DOES go loud for its size. Works great in the car.

Who uses that dated USB cord? It should be a more up to date cable. If the cable had a mini usb cable that the average person uses with there smart phones It would be so much better. That way if someone loses the cable (as I did) they could just use the ones they have laying around the house. The last time I saw that cable used was when I had a flip phone 10 years ago.

This is the old version and I can't imagine how the new one is better because the rock out has great sound and is very well designed. The only thing I'd change is to lengthen the cords. My wife loved it so much she promptly "stole" it to play music on while at her desk.

Great sound quality, I use it mostly with my laptop at home. I don't have an IPOD, and would like the storage area to be bigger for my cell phone. The new cell phones are eve bigger, and once you add a protective case it definitely won't fit.

Really nice sound for a small speaker. Slightly lacking in bass. It works great for watching movies/TV on an iPad. The connection is a bit tempermental though. You have to wiggle it a bit after inserting into the device to hear the sound. Other than that, great product.
