Great Parabolic Softbox. I tend to use this with just the innder diffuser as i light the catch light it creates. It is a big modifer so make sure you have a strong C-Stand with weights to hold the light with this modifier.

Really impressive quality for the price. It's efficient, delivers beautiful light quality, and seems well made. While not as convenient as the quick release version, it's still fairly easy to assemble as long as you do it correctly. I've used the non high heat version with the lighter fiberglass rods and they were very delicate and often bent or broke at the tips. The metal rods here are a welcome upgrade in durability. So far I've only used it with video lights but I'm looking forward to getting a Profoto speedring and testing it out with strobes for photography.

The only downside is that you can?t close it once you open it. It?s very difficult to do so but I never close it and always have it up and ready to go. Great for the type of content I need it for.

I gave it 4 stars because as good of a product that it is, It was seriously difficult to mount. The rods are steel and although its sturdy, it was almost impossible to get mounted. I do not plan on using this for field work where I have to assemble or disassemble on location, I would find it hard to use. But once its set up and ready to go? its awesome! The quality of light is perfect and I could not be more pleased.

Awesome! Very sturdy and well built. You'd have to put a little muscle into it to build it and breakdown. Use impact gloves for extra grip! Bought this for the 500 and the 36" for the 150 Light.

Well designed and sturdy construction. Not very light so best used in the studio but rugged and durable.

This is a very nice parabolic soft box. Well made, but it is huge, very huge, you can probably fit inside it. I did return it only because of its size, I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for reading my review!

Works for me. I am not a working pro but for what I do at home and on location this soft box never let me down.

Build quality is great! Especially for the price you pay. However, most softboxes have rods that have one end of smaller diameter than the other so that you can interchange different speed rings. I have a center focusing rod that mine mounts on and the holes in that dedicated speed ring are a bit smaller in diameter. I had to grind all of the rods down on one end a bit to make them fit. Light guality is beautiful. However if you are using the cheetah chopstick focusing system, you will have to modify the rods at one end.

The metal ribs stretch the parabolic umbrella fits snugly and is now stays permanently in my focusable/extendable parabolic bracket for my Godox AD600B using the head extension.

This is the size if you need soft lighting and if you are shooting large group of people. Highly recommended, great quality. Professional quality.

I do mostly, on location photography. Even when I’m shooting for me, I simply don’t do it in studio. That said, this is the main concern with this softbox. It is incredibly cumbersome to put together and take apart. It is best for studio work, and/or anyone who doesn’t mind or is incredibly good at putting it together and taking it apart rapidly. Not good for people like myself, who suck at assembling/disassembling this thing. Build quality is great, and it delivers, beautiful soft light. Have had it almost a year without issues. I recommend this for a permanent studio set. I do not recommend this for on-the-go, or on location shoots.

I am writing this because I feel the 2 start review is unjustified. This softbox is large, It is 48". Knowing this, you should know it is not easy to transfer around a 48" softbox. It is non-collapsible, which in my opinion is a "pro" and not a con. My previous collapsible softboxes, collapsed too easily, and I actually bought this one, because one of the collapsible rods on my previous softbox did break. That being said, This is a very heavy duty softbox that protrays light quite evenly due to its double diffusion. If you think you can muster setting this up in, this is a great softbox for the money

This box is very difficult to assemble if you do it incorrectly. Do it correctly and it’s a snap. Here’s how to put it up, install every other rod, to take down uninstall every other rod. This is the key. Do every other rod first, then fill n the rest. Otherwise you’ll have the same problems the other reviewer had.

I was surprised how sturdy it was built. I was happy to have gone with the metal-rod (high heat) version rather than the fiberglass/plastic rods that could easily break. However, the entire contraption is absolutely horrendous to put up and take down. If you still want this box having those metal rods is essential. Difficult assembly and takedown are NOT problems I want on-location or even in studio for that matter. If I had a huge studio where I can put it up and leave it assembled that would be great. If I had known what I know now I would have looked for something else. I’m not sure what that is but breakdown and assembly continues to be off-putting to a point where I don’t want to use it. The quality of light is on average as to what one might expect. It fulfills it’s role in that regard. But there isn’t anything stellar about it either. Overall, I guess I’m disappointed in the assembly and takedown above all else. I can’t recommend it for a photographer on the move buyniy may be okay in a studio.
