While I'm not new to photography, I'm new to videography and wanted some relatively inexpensive lights that were still decent. This light, and the SL300W II fit the bill. I also liked that this light came with the remote. The only real negatives are what everyone else has mentioned, the knob for vertical adjustment could be designed a bit better, and the Bowens mount is a bit loose (it's tighter on my SL300W II). The light is quiet enough, and after buying the Godox reflector with the umbrella mount, this light has some really good output. So glad I picked one of these up on sale, just wish I could find an applicable bag to store/carry my lights in.

This is definitely a great, reliable, and fairly priced light. Fan noise is not noticeable even if you?re close to it!

So far so good. I?ve only had it a couple of weeks, but it provides high power lighting and is comparable to the SL60s from godox, so relatively quiet. Would recommend.

Really excellent light. Incredibly bright, accurate color to both my and my cameras eyes, and can mount any standard softbox or light dome you would need. Remote control is a nice feature to configure the intensity when rigged high.

The SL200 II is a great improvement over the SL200. The fans are virtually noiseless. I use the light for still life and slow motion photography. This light gives me a lot of light output very inexpensively when compared to other products.

I bought 3 of these lights and I've been very impressed with how they have performed over the last couple of weeks. I mount a 24"x32" soft box on each of them, and Bowens mount as well as the tightening wheel hold them solidly in place. I bought these specifically because I occasionally work with sound engineers on shoots and knew that fan noise would not be tolerated on set. One reviewer has complained about a problem when trying to use one remote to control multiple lights. However, if you use the remote correctly, you shouldn't have any problems changing the output on individual lights from just one remote. You do this by assigning each light to a group (I use A, B, & C); all lights and the remote are set to the same channel. By doing this you can change the output on each individual light by using just one remote. The lights will remember the last setting they were on when you switch to a different group on the remote - even if you turn them off. This has worked flawlessly for me and is the way that groups/channels are intended to be used. I agree with most reviewers in that 1. When using the reflectors you will notice a hot spot. Not a huge problem unless you are working with the lights up close in which case you probably should not be using a reflector anyway. 2. They are solidly built but not what I would call "heavy duty" so you will need to treat them with care, and get a hard case if you are traveling with them. 3. The light is daylight balanced so you'll have to use gels to change the color if needed. A 1/4 or 1/8 CTO is perfect for matching tungsten. 3. Yes the fan DOES make a very, very faint hum that is audible if you put your ear (or a microphone) within 17 inches of the head. So don't do that. Finally, as many have noted here and on various YouTube reviews, the light does not come with a case. I go back and forth on this because on one hand you would think that an instrument like this should come with some kind of case. On the other hand, all of the other cases from lights I've purchased over the years are sitting unused in my attic, because it's far more efficient to put my lights into one or two multiple-light cases when I'm going to a job. Hope this helps.

I cannot stress how awesome this light has been for all sorts of work. From studio lighting to outdoor, it packs quite the punch for how small the unit is. Would definitely recommend to both people starting out and professionals.

Super happy with this update of the Godox 150 ilght. Extremely quiet fan. Massive output of good light. Comes with a reflector. I bought a second one because I was so impressed with the first one I received.

I've been working with this light in studio and on shoots now for about a month. This is my first LED, I've used tungsten for years. At full power it's about equivalent to an 800-1k tungsten fresnel. Overall it's a good light for the price, but it has flaws. I'm just going to list the flaws here, because the positives have already been stated multiple times: 1. This feature is a complete failure: If you are using multiple Godox lights with the same remote via the multiple channel feature, every time you switch channels to adjust a light, it changes it's % to the % you had set the previous light. So if I have one light at 10% and the other at 30%, when I switch channels to adjust it it automatically goes down to 10%. So if I haven't memorized what I have every light set at, then multi-channel feature is completely pointless, and I have to use a separate remote for every light. 2. The Bowens mount, while strong, does not LOCK well. For example, even the included reflector which weighs like nothing can be pulled out easily without disengaging the lock. A heavier item like a fresnel attachment or softbox has a tendency to "sag" in the mount, so someone not paying attention could knock them out and injure themselves. So far this hasn't troubled me, but I would never rent this light because of this. 3. Also with a heavier attachment like a softbox or fresnel, the twist-lock on the side of the light has a certain degree of "give" to it, meaning you have to position the light angle higher than you actually want it to be, then lock it and hope when it drops down it's in the right place. This does get very annoying if you have to frequently reposition the lights, but if you're just putting it in a studio and leaving it in 1 position it doesn't matter. Hopefully Godox can address these issues and fix them with subsequent models.

These LEDs just aren't that bright. I'd tried the 60w and it had to be within 2' of my subject (using a softbox) at f/2.8, 1/200, iso1000. That's extremely restrictive and I really don't want to be shooting at iso1000. So, I returned it and got the 150w. At that point, I decided I'd stick with my speedlights as the main and I just wanted the 150w to provide a very small amount of fill. That means shooting it into a 60" umbrella behind me and my subject about 6'-7' from the light. I just want enough fill so my shadows don't go completely black. Still no good! There's just no power. I guess it would be good for a main fairly close, as in my first scenario, but as a fill this way, it was a barely detectable amount of light.

This light is the best bang for its buck. Having this kind of power output with full dimmability and a bowens mount is unmatched. The effects is really what sold me. While I love this light so far, I'd say the effects could be better. the lightning effect is really predictable, though I find switching back and forth between two effects gets a more realistic and less predictable lightning pattern.

Very reliable and handy. Not too heavy (didn't need a C-Stand when combined with a large diffusion attachment) and the brightness is just what I needed. If I were shooting outside, I might want the fresnel in addition.
