I've waited a long time to write a review. I purchased my instinct in April 2020, and it's been with me ever since. Through multiple long hikes, marathon training cycles, and daily life in the military. And four years later, the watch is still basically like new, save for a few scuffs here and there. It still has an incredible battery life, is comfortable, and tracks my workouts simply with little fuss. The associated Garmin Connect app is also great, and I've enjoyed tracking all of my stats and health with it. Whenever my current watch kicks the bucket, and it doesn't seem like it will be soon, I'll definitely be purchasing another Instinct. I couldn't ask for a better watch.

I have had watch for several years and it continually unpairs with my phone and is difficult to reconnect. Shouldn't be this hard, and run function turns itself on and runs battery down

I really love this watch for the simplicity of it. I don't need bright screens with all the bells and whistles. The battery The battery The battery wire The battery Life is phenomenal. I love that the activities it shows me right off the bat or the ones I want I don't have to customize it to get the walk activity to show up like I had to do on my others. They're just there which is nice. I've had this watch for about 4 years now and it's still going strong. One of the band loops is starting to crack but those are easily replaceable and this is after 4 years of being on my wrist every single day.

Love the Instinct but not Garmin Connect ap. Seems like there was an update as my home page view has changed and I haven't been able to get it changed back. Would like a quicker way to add custom strength training workouts.

I just received this watch. It's great. I got tired of the Fitbit scene. I needed something that's going to last me longer than 18 months. I think I may have found it. The features are very nice, even on a tight budget. I needed something that would take the abuses of life. As a Police Officer I needed something durable enough to survive those daily rigors. I'm looking forward to see how it holds up. But, I think this is a vast improvement over what I've been working with.

The GPS tracker works well and the battery gets at least a week on a single charge. The watch looks great and had a ton of features BUT almost all of those features rely on input from the heart rate sensor. The heart rate sensor on this thing is complete garbage. At best it's usually off by 40-60% when your doing anything but laying on the couch. I've tried all the tricks Garmin recommends to get it to work and it's still useless, Garmins advice was to spend another $150-200 on a separate chest monitor to get the watch to do what they advertise. I would expect these problems from a cheap no name Amazon knock off, not a legitimate company. My old Fitbit Charge 3 never had these issues at half the price

Had this watch almost 2 years now. I love this thing. It does everything I need too. But here over the past 6 months my calls have not been showing up on my watch. Tried everything still nothing. Wish I knew what the problem was.

The last thing I wanted when outside doing activities was my watch constantly giving me little haptic shocks every time a i get a work email, something happens in the news, someone posts something on Instagram, or whatever. I could take it. I took the watch off and uninstalled all the apps.

Got this watch in August 2023 for a birthday. It is locked up & tried all the procedures to unfreeze it. It must be a big problem with this watch. I read where Garmin updates caused them to freeze. GARMIN OWES ME A NEW WATCH.

I have had this for about a year now and have used it while hiking the AT through the Mass section. One of the reasons I bought it was the "find my phone" app. Before I had this I thought I had lost my phone off the trail until someone came by and called my phone from his. It rang and I found it. Now with this watch I can find it without having to wait for someone else to happen by on the trail.

I got this watch because of the features of stress level and body battery. It seems to need frequent resetting as it ceases reading throughout the night, and I wake up with a body battery very low, even though I feel energetic. The opposite has been true as well. It will show me a body battery of 100 and I feel very tired and lethargic. I still am trying to understand the algorithm that bases these judgments on. I've had it for several months and am not impressed.

My Fitbit Sense just crashed after notifying me that I just made my 10000 steps. Fitbit support let me know that this was not repairable even after a cold restart, so I had to look for another watch and it wasn't gong to be Fitbit. I did a quiz and it came up with the Instinct. The features which are important to me are time with seconds, day and date, steps, floors (which is hard to find on many other watches) and heartbeat, all of which show on one screen on the Instinct. I am just getting started, my impressions are, lots of good features, all are required to be found by buttons, may be hard to remember if infrequently used. My preference would be selection by a touch process although this watch doesn't have this feature. The only idea I have for possible improvement so far is to have a wrist activated screen light function to be able to read the watch face at night using only one hand, perhaps the watch logic might allow for this. Miss the coloured screen. Probably will have to spend more money for the next watch.

I was disappointed to find that my new Instinct Standard would not record heart rate data while swimming. It seems I will need to wear a chest strap that records data for transmission to the watch only after the swim session is over. Which chest strap is compatible and can be used in the pool.

Use a single finger to show explanation of your narrative. The entire hand leads to confusion as to which buttons you are activating. Arrows or a pointer to accentuating your narrative would be appreciated.

Have had this farming product for about six months and it refuses to charge. Works great when it works but it's useless if the battery won't charge.

Basics like picking up time in region is a problem always give wrong time, heart rate is not accurate. GPS signal never works - keps stating go to open area. Have stopped using this. Seems to be good quality from outside but practicality is nil. I use Garmin 1030plus and its predecessor earlier so thought would try their watches. Not a good decision.

I have had the watch for a few weeks but still have not been able to connect it to Garmin IQ. I have problems following the instructions. Part of the problem is me iam 85 yrs old. I just am too slow with the instructions graphics. The watch works ok but limited to what it can do.
